I have been an emotional eater, and am sometimes now, but I've also taken off 50 lbs. over time, and am basically maintaining. I've learned not to make it the default to give in to the myriad eating cues that we get all the time in our culture, cues that often have nothing to do with emotions, but which we might think do because we know we aren't actually hungry. Hunger is not the only acceptable reason to eat, though it's definitely preferable. I myself have made the practices of healthy slim cultures more of my guidelines than calorie counting or severe restriction of food types. I see you joined the Living Binge Free team, where I'm the leader. Welcome! I also try to check in with the Emotional Eaters team, too.

Don't despair! You CAN learn to make your eating manageable. This may look different than following a diet. Come let us help!
