Working on my personal "game" of exercising regularly and eating consciously. I've tried several "diets" and have had the most success with SPARKPeople so I'm back at it. It's NOT as "sexy" and the results take longer but also last longer. This time I'm shooting for a lifestyle change and approach. Slow but steady as a turtle for the win.
Will attempt to win at strategies that challenge me: like when I get sick or have an injury. In the past, these have slayed me.
And last but not least "maintenance" once I lose the weight. I can get a lousy attitude and become complacent regarding my weight. Then I fall back into habits that don't support my healthy choices. So here we go.

My Goals:
Lose 10#'s sensibly Goal date: April 1, 2019
Eat sensibly, by trying to simplify tracking.
Give up sugar by increasing natural sweets and replacing sweet eating behaviors, especially in the evening.


My Program:
1. Track food & water every day.
2. Learn to use groupings and favorites to make tracking easier.
3. Read Spark emails every day.
4. Walk every day.



Personal Information:
I'm a California Girl who was born in Tennessee. I'm crazy about being active and it's tough as I age to realize and adapt to my limitations. I love to use my large motor muscles but I'm afraid of too much speed and heights. Luckily I'm fearless when it comes to water, including the ocean. Swimming in the ocean makes me feel like I'm 13yrs old again. I have 4 children and many grandsons. I love reading a lot! I'm married to an awesome poet and we have a ton of fun together.

Book I am currently reading: "Blood and Thunder, by Hampton Sides. Tedious details! but I'm hanging in.

Fav movie this month: Dr. Zhivago I had never seen it

    Hi there! Thanks for the motivation to stay positive today! I am a bit calmer. work day almost over here then let the running begin - Finally getting my car back from the body shop (DH had a wreck in the snow 3 weeks ago!) Then home to the chaos! LOL We have the new dog we found penned up in DH office - Earl isn't feel the new dog at all! and my dad is spending the winter... we are working on new meds etc but each day is a stuggle!

    Tomorrow is bound to be easier, right??

    thank you sooooo much for the kind words and motivation! I realized today that I am only 3lbs from my weigh in after the first 10 week challenge I did in 2010! that is pretty exciting for me! now to keep it up and stay on track long term! emoticon
