Come Join Me - We'll Make a Life of This
Last year was my third attempt at SparkPeople and I think it went really well. I lost nearly 40 pounds, ran my first 5k in nearly 20 years, and felt wonderful. Then came February. For some unknown reason, I died. I went into Sudden Cardiac Arrest in front of my whole family. Thanks to the grace of God, I was saved. My survival chances were less than 6%. All the right people were there and after being shocked 72 time in the ER, I'm alive today.

Thanks to SparkPeople, I was healthy going into that situation. My blood pressure was nice and low, blood levels normal, and my heart was clean as a whistle. Something electrical caused the Cardiac Arrest and to this day, doctors have no idea what caused it.
Anyhow...a few hospital visits later and after having a few shirts cut off of me from the paramedics, I think I'm getting closer to where I was. My weight has come back, but my spirit has strengthened. I know what life and death are about and I would like to prolong the previous as much as I'm allowed.
There are so many wonderful people here and I am fortunate to have built a great many friendships through SparkPeople. I'm looking forward to building more friendships and achieving more of those goals with all of my friends.
