I hearyou about the indoor gym in the winter! I am enjoying being outside!!! I DREAD when our outdoor beach/pool closes. Not a fan of indoor pools, but they sure do help in the off season. I hope to run outside as long as there isn't ice on the roads. I live in the Chicago area so winters can brutal sometimes! I'm hoping to do the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving, but also noticed recently we have a 5K Reindeer run in December. Now that is totally cool! One hopes by February (when my Tri Club starts) that you can plan a run outside by the end of it.

Good luck on that marathon! I know that's harder than a sprint Triathlon(maybe even an olympic distance)!

Thanks for the info about post season workouts! I do, in fact, do strength training already (in my opinion, a MUST for endurance athletes as it really has helped prevent injuries!), but you reminded me that the off season is a good time to increase my weights. I've gone light during tri season at a coaches suggestion as well as take time off two weeks before a race. You had some other really good ideas too. Thanks for sharing.

I see you are new to Sparkpeople. Welcome! And best wishes on your races!!!
