Hey everyone. It has been a long time since I've been on SP but I'm back :)
I am 28 and happily married. I go to school and am working on getting 3 degrees. Hospitality Management, Baking arts, and Culinary arts.
In regards to my health I feel like I've lost part of who I am and am hoping to improve my health to find the fun outdorsy hyper person I use to be.
In the past I would set these big elaborate goals for myself and give myself deadlines of when to reach them. Some people work well with deadlines, I do not. I find them stressful. I saw the success everyone else had so I thought, "Just do it anyways," but time and time again I would just end up discouraged when I realized I wouldn't reach my goal by my deadline. Another thing about deadlines is that I tend to procrastinate. If I give myself a year to do something, I will wait until 4 months before to try to complete it. If I want to lose 50lbs, 4 months is pushing it. If I want to run a marathon (another goal of mine), if you are not a regular long distance runner, 4 months is not enough time to train.
This time around, I'm going to set my "big picture goals" but not have a date to have it done by. To help reach those big picture goals, I am going to set monthly goals that will work towards the bigger goals.
So in my goal section, I will have "Big picture goals" which will be ones that will take me awhile to get to and then I will have my "Monthly goals" which will be things I set each month to help me move forward.
I think having to set goals each month will also keep me motivated and focus because at the end of each month I will have to evaluate where I'm at and then decide what needs to be done to keep moving forward the next month.
We shall see what happens :)

*Run my first marathon
*Look forward to going swimming
February goals:
*Walk 5+ miles each week
*Eat yogurt 5 times a week
*Consume less carbs from "white" food (stick with mostly whole grains)
*Stretch daily

My Program:
I think the most important thing for me will be goal setting on a monthly basis.
My basic program is to eat healthier and exercise more. However the process I use will be to evaluate where I'm at at the end of each month and set new goals for the next that keep me moving forward. This will keep me from falling in a regular pattern but will keep me on my toes.

I love to garden and sew, though I am still learning how to master both hobbies. I hope to one day own a large piece of land that I can use to "live off the land" for the most part. It will take a lot of time, and I have lots of learning to do, but someday....:)
