2011- I refer people to Sparkpeople.com weekly yet I am the worst at updating it. I've kept the weight off for the most part, but I have not progressed. I am sitting at a size 12, I am happy to say that I've learned to love myself but I want to improve my form. Over the last year I can blame a heavy work load and busy schedule but honestly it's just my will power went to hell. My eating habits have gradually gone from bad to horrible. If I don't buckle down and straighten up then the holidays are going to be impossible to maintain let alone stop from gaining weight.
I have a vacation planned for March 2012 and I want to be at my goal of a size 9 by then.

I love this quote and believe it will all my heart. Setting goals and accomplishing them is the greatest feeling. Ten years ago I got divorced, and decided to go back to school. I had dropped out of high school to have my wonderful son at 16 and now as a single mother I needed my education. Today I look back at that journey as a graduate from the University of Utah.
Anything is possible, and the last 2 years have shown me that I can not only achieve success in developing my mind, but my body too. Setting a goal and working to achieve it takes dedication, motivation, and will power. But IT IS WORTH IT! Seeing the scale decline is not the only benefit, but it is a rewarding one. The strength I feel in my heart & lungs increases my endurance in all my activities. I have the strength to participate with my kids in outdoor activities.
I am still on the road to success but I know I can do it. I know that I have set a standard for my health that will continue for the rest of my life. Everyone keeps saying "Oh the last 20 is the hardest", but that doesn't mean give up. In the words of Dory from Finding Nemo "Just Keep Swimming....". That's what I have to say to anyone looking to improve their health & fitness lifestyle, Just Keep Swimming, Don't Give Up! It is the best thing you can do for yourself, and your family.

I used to have to take medication for IBS, and heartburn every day and my stomach was a constant source of discomfort. Since changing the way I eat and increasing my exercise I have stopped that cycle. I no longer take any medication for either issue because I don't experience either one :)!
I have also noticed a huge change in my energy level. It's so nice to have the energy to accomplish my daily tasks. I have 2 jobs, 2 teenagers, and I am a senior at the University of Utah.
I let myself get into a routine of watching to much television and over eating. My energy level was so low. I realize that was a big mistake. Having been diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in November 2007 and going through all that was involved was an eye opening experience to get me back on track to a healthy way of living. I encourage everyone around me to eat right and be active. Your quality of life will be so much better and that is what counts the most.

Personal Information:
I've lived in Utah all my life. I have two wonderful teenagers, yes they really are the best kids ever!
I am blessed with a fantastic extended family and friend network. They encourage me to better my health in so many ways.

I watched my mother try every fad diet out there. I want to lose weight the natural way. With diet & exercise I want to create a healthy lifestyle and be an example to my children by maintaining a proper fitness and diet regiment.

Other Information:
I love dancing, reading, playing games & watching movies with my family. I am a die hard Sex and the City fan.
