Oh my....didn't read not with Roller skates until just now. I am so sorry that your car is totaled. That is a major bummer, but I am glad all are safe and unharmed.

Bicycling I do not like anymore. However, I do enjoy a stationary bike or recumbent bike. Those actually are my fave things to do. Just have to make myself get to that gym. lol

Hi there! Thanks for visiting my page and for the roller skates!

I have been a member of Spark people since April 2008. My weight has gone up and down. When I first started I had just quit smoking the month or so before, and so I wanted to learn how to be fit as my breathing was SO much better. I was ready to kick butt.

In 2010 is when the Fibromyalgia came along and rocked my world. I was 11 lbs away from my goal weight and very active (at least for me since bfore I was a couch potato.) I was doing 30 minutes of cardio 6 days a week and strength 2 days. After the Fibro came I was so scared to move let alone keep my exercise regimen. It seemed everything I did just caused pain or made what pain I had worse. As you can guess I put on the pounds....all that I lost and more.

In my state (SC) In my city we have a center that has a Fibromylgia physical therapy that was designed by some world renown Dr. that has an office here. It was great and helped alot....especially the water therapy.

Walking has helped me, but it has been very difficult for me to find that happy medium in which I don't push so hard that I overdo it. I just take it one moment at a time. Spiritually I pray a lot. I am a born again Christian. I believe that God can and will heal me if He chooses to. If not I feel he has a plan and purpose. It's not easy. When I was first hit with Fibro I was angry at Him for allowing it. Now I have pretty much come to terms. Also I do a lot of deep breathing exercises. They help lower my stress levels.

I am interested in the sodium watching that you have found helpful. I never add salt to anything. I figure whatever I am eating has plenty.

    Blessings,
    Cynthia

Best Changes so far since joining SparkPeople:
    1. drink enough water each day. (I use a 32 oz glass juce bottle and fill it twice daily. took three days to get to this level of water daily, but felt way better by third day. Pain was down to a 1 and had not been below a 3 for months before this.
    2. watch my sodium intake (the days with the over goal are the days my pain is worse.
    3. get the recommended amount of fiber ( I have been way low on this as well from what I can tell from tracking) found out that football players use chia seeds in their water bottles for training and muscle health, so began adding 2 tbs dally to my water bottle. It absorbs water, is tasteless, and ups my fiber count and adds nutrition to the day for a low calorie count. Got a large bag of these for about eight dollars and I am feeling a lot better and eating less with this change.

Tip of the day-put chia seeds in your drinking water to add fiber and protect muscles. That's' what the football players do when they are in training!

Something new today...swapping out green salsa for blue cheese dressing was an effective and tasty move on my dinner salad tonight.
