As I sit here trying to think of what I could say that would represent who I am and my current goal, I can't help but feel ashamed at the realization that I joined Spark People September 15, 2006.

Almost 9 years later, I am heavier than when I started so long ago.

I suppose it took me this long to figure myself out, to accept that fact that this is a lifestyle change and NOT a quick fix to my growing waist line. Friends are often shocked when I tell them I weigh 331 lbs, I suppose I have my 6 ft 3 in frame to thank for disguising the truth; but when my clothes drop I am the only person left with the reality of what truly is.

The reality is that I am a snacker, and I have to find what works for me. It's not fast food, it's not junk food and it's not sweets. It's finding those healthy foods that I DO like an making them work for me. It's about trying new foods that I may potentially like, but have never had the opportunity to love because of my years of bad habits.

I am ready to fully commit to changing my life. My son requires it. My knees and back ache for it, and I need it. I am ready to take healthier choices one day at a time. Not only to reach my weight loss goals but to live an overall healthy lifestyle for my own future.

    It’s cold outside, but Spring is coming! Are you ready to join a Challenge? The Biggest Loser Challenge is looking for members for it’s next Challenge starting the first week of March. The challenge consists of 11 Teams, that participate in 10 weeks of Nutritional and Fitness Challenges. These challenges can be modified to fit individual needs, allowing members of all abilities and dietary needs to participate.
