I now have 80 lbs to lose overall. I have an idea of what I want my goal weight to be, however I'm sure it will change as I get closer to it. I may find that my body doesn't work well at my goal weight, so I'm aware the number may change.

I'm 28 and WILL get to my goal weight and maintain by the time I'm 30.

My Goals:
I want to lose 80 lbs in the long term.

Short daily goals are, drink more water, exercise daily, even on "off" days. Even if it's just for 10 minutes. Go for the healthiest option I can get when in any situation.


My Program:
I am taking every choice I need to make as one. I get overwhelmed too easily, so I'm starting small. It's what works for me. I don't want to get discouraged about working out. I am calling on all my friends and family to support me in this change (they are very supportive). I'm also trying to feed myself better foods and drinks.



Personal Information:
I'm from the south so I grew up around fried foods. My mother wasn't a cook so my meals growing up were out of cans and things that went in the microwave. I never really thought about my weight because I thought that was just how I was supposed to be, big and getting bigger. I finally reached 250 and thought enough was enough. I'm doing what I can to make all my numbers go down!


Other Information:
I love reading. I'm not very good at it but I do enjoy it. I also love jumping rope. I'm trying to love cooking so I will want to take time to prepare healthy foods for myself and my family. Food scares me currently. I'm working on it though.

    Hey sweetie! How are things going for you? I have been enjoying getting outdoors and walking, that's my favorite thing to do that I never get bored with. I just pick somewhere different each day to mix it up. Walk around town, walk the track at the college, find different walking trails at nature reserves and parks. Can't wait til summer when I can go swimming, play tennis with my hubby, etc. Well, I hope you have a wonderful week! Get out there and do something to make yourself proud! Every lil bit counts and helps! You can do this!!! :)

    Bridget, That's exactly how I am. I set a goal of losing 50lbs by x date and when I don't get it done, I end up giving up and binging. It's a bad cycle.

    Thank you for your kind words. I feel completely alone in this attempt so it's nice to know there are supporters here online. I'm completely tired of being obese.

    The heaviest I've ever been in my life was 249lbs. I didn't stay at that weight for long but I'm not too much smaller than that currently. My last weigh in last week was 229lbs. To be fair, mother nature is here and I always gain a few pounds with it.

    What kinds of things do you do for exercising? I currently don't do anything (which I know is bad, but I haven't found anything I can stick with for longer than a week).

    Anyway, thank you again for the confidence in me! I needed to hear it :-)

    Yes, I used to be like that setting huge goals, then getting discouraged when I couldn't reach them! I have learned that I am more successful with small goals. If you think about it, small goals get you there slower, but you can do them without giving up so easily. I always think, dang I could be 30 lbs less if I stuck to smaller goals, instead I would drop 10 really fast then fall off the wagon and gain 20 back, NOT good!!!! I know you can do this, you definitely sound ready! I am here if you need someone to talk with! We CAN do this!!!! It isn't easy, but I am so happy with the 26 lbs I have managed to lose in less than a year! My 1 year will be in April, and I want to see what I can accomplish by then! :) Good luck!!!!     HI Rebecca! I saw your comment on Bridget's blog entry. You're absolutely right, small goals are the way to go. Set a goal to lose 2 lbs a week for a month. If you reach your goal and are down 8 lbs by the end of that month, give yourself a reward! Even if its something small. A set of dumbbells from Walmart, a Red Box movie you've been dying to see, anything!

    Then get back on here and set the goal for the next month. 2 lbs a week and maybe 1 Sparkpeople workout video twice a week.

    If you make the goals small and obtainable, not only can you succeed, but you'll boost your self-esteem like nobody's business! lol
