Demolition Derby to journeys off my map
While I was away...
9/16/18 Lost my balance getting into bed and fell, fracturing my right wrist. Unable to use a walker until it healed I couldn’t go home so hospitalized 2 walks before a rehab would take me.
10/17/18 still in rehab, my wrist is healing nicely but I cannot even pull myself to a standing position at the parrallel bars, cannot pivot or transfer. Hoyer to bed or Wheelchair and back. Bedpans etc

My 60 yr old courageous sister Rosalind loses her fierce 15 month old battle with pancreatic & liver cancer. When her memorial service is held service is held in November I am still confined to bed and because I cannot transfer and my oversized wheelchair was too wide to go up ramps of any/local or private transportation I was unable to attend and join my family. We used Skype which was at least better than nothing at all.
My wife could not live in our condo alone with her memory problems so went to live with her daughter and son-in-law who love her but are totally homophobic and not supportive of us.
My PT was cut off once my wrist healed but my legs were so week after 6-8 wks or more Im bed I as told basically that until I lose a significant amount of weight I am not likely to regain strength and mobility with my legs.
By Christmas I was in the nursing home section, knowing I couldn’t go home, my wife could not either without me... and that we would need to sell our condo and find a home for our 2 beloved kitties..
I have never been so utterly devastated... grieving for my sister, my freedom, day to day living with my wife and our cozy home...
Yes ... food was the only escape I had and I basically went off the deep end with that. I have gained @80 pounds in the past 9 months.
I am finally in a new transition which is positive and ew paths are emerging though I am still bed bound. My wife is now living in the nursing home WITH me, we are sharing a room. Sold the condo, found the cats a home. Being reunited with my wife after 9 excruciating months apart is beyond words to describe beyond clinging to my gratitude that we are together. And in a setting that is much better for us both on so many levels.
I have been blessed with many advocates and supports for my SO and I getting back together and going through a lot before we ended up here.

My Goals:
Nurture and protect and live in gratitude for the blessings in my life and trust Gods plan for me. For my love. For all of us. Do not dwell on the hatred and racist garbage spewing from our leaders but do not ignore it either. Promote appreciation and gratitude and actively extend loving energy and communications with whoever is around me, whoever comes in my path each day, and there are many. I will not be silent. I will live with open gratitude and acknowledge of the gifts in others which bless my life countless times a day.
