WOW! Where do I begin? I decided when I turned 40 that I was at a turning point in my life. I couldn't tell my step-daughter that she had to eat certain foods because they were healthy and not to eat certain foods because they were not healthy if I was not living by that motto as well. During the last 5+ years of my parents lives they suffered from cancer, diabetes, strokes and heart disease. Unfortunately, I lost both of my parents in 2009 (only 6 months apart from each other). I am the only daughter with 8 living brothers- most of them have high BP issues, high cholesterol, one has already had a heart attack (at age 48) and who knows the things that haven't been communicated. I know that I am predisposed to some things, however, I want to try and eat as healthy as I reasonably can and be at a healthy weight so that my risks for some of the same problems are not as great.

My Goals:
I would like to get to my goal weight of 125 lbs. It has been a long struggle with the death of both of my parents, a very stressful job, a custody battle over my 13 year old step daughter and the illness of my oldest brother. HOWEVER, I WILL REACH MY GOAL!!!!

My Program:
I make am conscientious about the calories and foods that I eat now and making sure that I do my cardio minutes each week. If I miss a day, I make it up within the week. I am trying to make sure that I get my strength training in, but find it hard to do sometimes.

Personal Information:
I am originally from Burleson, TX which is near Ft. Worth. I moved to TN in 1994 then met and married my husband in 2003.

Other Information:
I love to read and be outdoors in the spring and the fall. I like to dabble in scrapbooking and other crafts.
