Here we are in year 2020.... As a child I thought 2020 would have us living like the Jetsons, flying around the cosmos, instant beauty, instant meals, and while I never thought of it then, instant weight loss! We are not exactly like the Jetsons, but we have plenty of instant everything, even instant weight loss if you go keto, but that is not sustainable for me!

I met my first stage of my weight loss goal back in 2018, got really sick, probably Covid19, at the end of 2019 and was sick for 8 weeks. Once I could eat again there was no stopping me and I put back on a good chunk of the weight I lost previously. Over the past few months I have played at losing it again, but have not taken it as seriously as it needs taking at my age! so, I vow to work on losing this weight, making lifestyle changes and finally keeping it off!

My Goals:
I am going to work hard on being consistent with my calories, I mean very consistent, each day and with moderate workouts. I will also eat at least 5 freggies a day, drink my 10 glasses of water and make healthy food selections each and every day!

My Program:
I am a member of WW and working on, not yet acheving, but that hcanges TODAY, the Purple Plan! I'm also following a plan layed out by Pahla B fitness for Weight Loss Over Age 50 which emphasizes the consistent part of eating and moderate exercise. It will be easier for me to stay moderate in my workouts during the fall & winter. If I get into a pool, I exercise like a maniac!

Personal Information:
I am totally blind as a result of Type 1 Diabetes & living a wild life in my teens and early 20s! I celebrated 50 years of diabetes on May 21, 2019! Pretty awesome I've lived this long! I am now battling kidney disease as well as being blind. so, more than ever healthy eating is a priority!

I am married and live in beautiful southside Virginia! I have a wonderful & supportive husband. We have a 4 legged baby girl named Sassy. Yes, she is spoiled and maybe a bit crazy! but, we love her to pieces!

I am trained in belly dancing & even performed on a cruise ship! I enjoy water aerobics, swimming, walking/jogging, am addicted to Pahla Bowers workout videos and Curves.

Other Information:
I love reading and especially enjoy psychological thrillers, mysteries, stories featuring dogs and the occasional occult novel like Stephen King or Dean Koontz.

I am a Type 1 Diabetic. Diagnosed at age 4. Losing weight will NOT cure my diabetes. As of now there is NO cure!

Hi Melissa, thank you for the "spark goodie", I really appreciated it. THis year has been a roller coaster for us. My husband is finally doing better, but it has been a rough year for him with his diabetes and heart condition. We are fighting a sore on his stump (left leg) and a sore on his big toe (right leg). They are both doing better thanks to a good doctor who is vigorous in her therapy. I love to hear from you because you always seem to sense when I need an encouraging word from someone who has been there. You really are an inspiration in my book. i hope you have a wonderful week this week. emoticon

Thanks for your welcome messages! I think I will love the AMC team board. TV is one of my favourite hobbies!! Probably one of the reasons I'm here to help lose some weight!! I love the challenges the AMC team has for during the show!! So much fun - I sometimes do some step aerobics while I'm watching re-runs of CSI...this will add an extra twist to my TV time!

    See you on the boards.

Hi! Hope you are having a good week -- don't know if I ever thanked you for my "spark goodie", but it was greatly appreciated. All of our family's old dogs have been ill this week -- ours isn't eating; our local son's is having neck tumor problems; the son's dog in Florida has tummy troubles. I need to get out and walk our younger dog -- we are both getting "rounder" and my efforts at exercise have declined. We are finally getting cooler temps., so we don't have the excuse of the weather! Blessings, Lennie
