This is my husband John and I at our 50th anniversary. He died June 03, 2016 after having vascular dementia for 9 years.We were a week away from our 56 th anniversary. I was his caretaker 24/7 and am trying to restart here again as my Doctor told me I need to take time for my health problems, and exercise, and diet again so am starting here again. I have been on twice before but can't get back on those pages. I love reading and genealogy. I am having trouble filling all the time I have free now so started going to senior citizens fo lunch four days a week to socialize and go out to TOPS Monday night so weighin is then. I have a lot of health problems but guess COPD and Asthma are the worst ones. Others are diabetes type 11, arthritis and bursitis, glaucoma you name it but have faith I can take time to work a lot more on it the hardest thing is just getting out of the recliner to do it but want to do that so will slowly but surely I hope. My weight today is down from 232 to 203.4. Working my way to 190 like the Dr wants already out of very obese or highest on the scale to obese not to far from normal range which is where myself and my doctor want me . Feeling good about this.

Fitness Minutes: 585

My Goals:
Lose 40 pds but even more I want to stay off oxygen other then sleeping so need exercise walking, riding my bike and for arthritis and bursitis I have bands and weights to do exercise with too. Have a treadmill that works slowly too maybe just my speed LOL don't use it but may have to in the winter here in Illinois with our snow and ice off and on.


My Program:
TOPS and counting calories for weight loss, walking an driding my exercise bike plus housework for longer intervals for health and breathing.



Personal Information:
A window of a little over two months now. Married for a week short of 56 years. I have 3 kids, 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren. I am adjusting to widowhood and getting better by telling myself what is the truth he is better off and in heaven and whole agian I believe. Plus I cared for him at home till he died with a hospital bed in the living room and all the other stuff he needed. I can feel I did my best at least.


Other Information:
I have had skin, bladder and breast cancers in the past and beat them all. I do beling to a breast cancer support group for support of new ones diagnosed with it.

    TOPS meeting tonight finally went down in weight the last 2 weeks. I was just yo yoing before hope can keep going. Lost 3.4 pds tonight. Weighed 229.4

    Read your post about ramping up. I am 68 and last year could only walk the dog 1/4 mile. Adding 100 yards a week, up to 5 miles per day and feeling so much better. Give yourself the blessing of another 20 years of good health by staying on program

    Thank you so much. I have had a few failed attempts along the way but am starting again. Like you said it is hard with his loss but trying again. Got another zip and my exercise bike going again and added drinking water ??

    So sorry for your loss.
    My husband passed away March 23, 2011. it was sudden in the middle of much laughter
    It has been a hard almost 6 years but the pain has eased and it is softer
    I had lost weight now I have gained some back. I am back to get support from Spark People again. I had been without a computer for years and just decided that I needed one to keep in contact with folks on the same path as I.
    Keep on Keeping on and we all will win this emoticon emoticon together!!!
