Hi All
I am 76 years old and a diabetic who has also had cancer three times. Skin cancer in 1996, Bladder cancer in 2009, and Breast Cancer in 2011. Three surgerys and chemo and radiation done :).

I just started trying to do more walking outside. I am in TOPS every Monday night, and also on Spark People and use the Nutrition Tracker and the Fitness Tracker to keep track of steps, calories etc. but somehow my tracker won't shop my steps on my fitness dashboard of fitbit zip anymore????? Ideas on how to fix that welcome. Minutes I want to build up to a lot more walking next :) Also riding my exercise bike at home. Had to quit the gym when the price went up again. So trying exercise at home. I am a widow since June 3, 2016. All my family is grown and out on their own so on my own. With one son who checks on me from Indiana regularly though I live in Illinois it is only an hour and a half or so apart. I was married a week a short of 56 years.

My Goals:
My Goal is to lose 15 more pounds or at least . I have diabetes and my A1C was clear up to 8 at one time now 6.3 as I am down from 232 to 202. I want to be able to move and walk better and live my life as I was before a few setbacks. Working on it nowand decided to get back to Spark People to encourage others as well as get support and encouragement myself. Hope to be able to help others along the journey to a healthier thinner life


My Program:
I am in a local TOPS group and have been since 2009 and it helped me a lot but a couple of cancers and other things threw me off and I backslide . Using my food tracker and exercise tracker the fibit zip which I just bought from Spark People is terrific it is encouraging me to get up and move and making me want to exercise a little more each day. Hope some day to get up to the 6,000 steps a week goal.



Personal Information:
I was married for 56 years minus a week when he died. I have 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. I married at 17 and stayed married to the same guy. I am a widow now though since June 3, 2016


Other Information:
I love reading and James . Patterson is my favorite especially Alex Cross, the Women's Murder Club and Michael Bennett Series. Club and ALex Cross Books and Michael Bennett. Also mysterys and love storys and mail order brides and Oregon Trial type books about trhe 1800's.

    The flowers and blossoms are filling the air with the smells of Spring. This is the time to start preparing for the Summer. Are you ready to join a Challenge? The Biggest Loser Challenge is looking for members for it’s next Challenge starting the first week of June.     I also am in TOPS now, I joined 2 weeks ago along with my husband. We have both been losing weight since December 27, 2018 so I told TOPS that they may as well pay us for losing weight lol. I think we finally got the hang of this losing weight "thing". We have both lost about 10 pounds each in the last 3 weeks. Wish us lots of success in this journey.

    Excited to meet all of you too finally on track most of the time. Once in a while a yo yo week but mostly on tv rack. Hoping I can tighten some skin under my neck too but not sure
