So I'm back!

You'd think that by now this wouldn't be an issue. I've counted calories, done Richard Simmons, done exchanges, etc. etc. etc. for as long as I can remember. The weight came off, but came back.

After some health issues in 2011, I stepped on a scale for the first time in years. At that moment, I weighed 323 lbs. I realized that I had a choice. Continue on my current path, and wind up with diabetes & other health issues, or change direction and get the weight off.

I worked with a registered dietician for a year -- it was a great refresher course for everything I'd ever learned about eating correctly. She also pointed out that I needed to get moving. I had no idea that I'd become so sedentary. "Use your legs or lose them, honey." -- what a wake up call! I also needed to start drinking water.

I Iost 50+ lbs, and, as they say, they (and some friends!) found me again. Stress, life changes, 3 major surgeries in 2017, a sedentary job and 4 years of not paying attention gave me the opportunity to let them catch me. And, as a result, the health issues that I wanted to avoid are HERE.

So here I am, 10 years later -- counting carbs as well as calories and needing to get my tailfeathers moving so that I can live to see my adorable grandchildren graduate college.

The line is drawn in the sand -- time for me to move forward!

    Hi, I was reading someone else's page and came across something you wrote. I liked it a lot so I wanted you to know.

    Here's what you wrote...."Disappointment only becomes defeat if WE let it!" Let's not let it.

    I'd like to add you as my friend. God bless you, Darlene

    ..And the Grinch with his Grinch feet ice cold in the snow,
    stood puzzling & puzzling, how could it be so?
    It came without ribbons. It came without tags.
    It came without packages, boxes or bags!
    And he puzzled & puzzled til his puzzler was sore!
    Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before;
    What if Christmas he thought doesn't come from a store?
    What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more?
