Quickie bio: I'm a 36 year-old mom of two--a 2 year old girl and a newborn boy. My first baby kept me too busy to keep up my previously healthy lifestyle, which included teaching Spinning 5x a week. I went from super active to utterly sedentary. I lost all of that pregnancy weight and then some, and was at a very attractive shape, and then developed really bad insomnia and gained about 25 pounds VERY quickly.

And then I got all knocked up again.

And I gained a LOT more this time around. Now the weight isn't coming off as quickly. Hey, I'm older, lazier, and my food choices are AWFUL.

My hubs' weight is at an all-time high. Mine's getting there, and we've decided that enough is enough. Sooooo, I cleaned out the cupboards, we agreed to go clean with our eating...

no more fast food
no more junk food
nothing white (sugar, flour, etc)
whole foods, real foods
nothing processed
nothing fried
if i don't recognize the ingredients, i don't eat it

And we'll be reasonable. I mean, who can live like that all the time? There will be the occasional ice cream cone. But we have GOT to break our addiction to convenient, processed junk food.

We need more ENERGY! We need healthy habits! And I am totally ready for this, so let's get started.

My Goals:
Be healthy without being obsessive. Achieve holistic health: mind, body, and spirit (and figuring out what that looks like it half the challenge!).


My Program:
I only eat things that live and die. If it doesn't do those things, I don't touch it. Other than that, I try to exercise when I can and am really trying to make that more of a commitment rather than a flouncy little "whatever".

    Hi there! I read your bio & I am so much like you! Im usually all or nothing or excellent on exercise & horrible on eating or vice versa! Weight loss has been a life long struggle! I was doing so good lost a lot of weight, ate right (really clean) I would not put ANYTHING bad in my mouth, I kept exercising but started eating bad bad bad! & now im so large im miserable, I dunno why I do that knowing how good skinny feels???? I have a problem getting enough sleep but its not that I can't get to sleep I just keep doing things & before I know it, its 1am and I have to get up at about 7:30! Good luck this year!!! emoticon
