Thanks for stopping by! My name is Amy. I am Mommy to two boys: Liam (6) and Oliver (4) and have been married for 12 years to a wonderful man, Dennis. We live in the mountains of North Carolina.

My story is not new. In fact, its been told post after post by so many of you. I am just shy of 8 weeks on the program and am now dipping my big toe in the water of blogging.

In addition to my family, I have two jobs - one FT and one PT - as we work our way very slowly through our financial goals in the spirit of
Dave Ramsey.

But, I was drowning and lost...grasping on to food and other unhealthy habits in an effort to stay afloat. Yes, I see the irony!

So now, I am back on 'my' list. I gotta figure this thing out. In order to be a healthy example, a strong woman, feel like a desirable wife and find where "I" am in life: I need to put myself back on the list.

I am more than "Mommy," "Honey," and "Employee". I am Amy and I'm fighting my way back.

I started the program with the aid of a very critical albeit honest physican who placed me on Meridia. My second job was up to 4 nights a week (for 2+ years) until recently and it left we with a complete inability to determine what was 'normal' in regard to portion size, hunger, nutrition and fueling my body. While the drug acts as an appetite suppressant, I have been able to revamp my relationship with food. Growing up in the Jane-Fonda-no-fat-is-best diet world, I have found myself utterly confused and bewildered about what is nutritionally advantageous.

So here I am...and watch where I go!
