Real name is Mark. I'm a 66 YO male who lives in Dunedin, Florida. After a lifetime of poor eating and too much Pepsi Cola, I've come to the conclusion that this lifestyle is not sustainable and must change. I will no longer allow an abusive childhood and subsequent family issues define who I am for ONE MORE DAY. I owe it to my wife, daughter and granddaughter to become a better version of myself. It is for this reason that I decided to enter a protocol for Gastric Sleeve Surgery, realizing that it is just a TOOL and that I must still do the hard work of changing my view toward food and exercise. With the help of my family, team and all of you I know that I'll be successful. LET'S GET STARTED!

Fitness Minutes: 2,818

My Goals:
Lose 180 pounds by my 70th Birthday in 2023
Increase Cardiovascular and overall fitness
Take advantage of beaches and overall Florida lifestyle opportunities in pursuit of my fitness goals
Fit into L or single XL clothing, down from my current 3XL sizing
Ditch the seatbelt extender when flying
Be comfortable in a regular size bathroom stall
Take a wave runner out into the Gulf and back bays
Resume bowling

My Program:
Use Spark People trackers daily
Visit support group pages daily
Start with walking 1.5 miles daily in .20 mile increments
During each walk, do 15 wall pushups
To maintain current weight, I need about 3900 calories a day. I want to be at 1600/day with an allowance for 1 2000 calorie day per week in order to lose 20-25 pounds prior to surgery.

Personal Information:
Born, raised and lived in Southern New Jersey before retiring to Florida in October of 2016.
Married 44 years with an adult daughter and 11 YO Granddaughter who live in NJ.
In a prior healthier life, played competitive ice hockey twice a week and was physically active

Other Information:
Our group will only be as successful as we allow it to be. Frequent postings and communication with other members will benefit everyone. Let's learn from each others journey to wellness. Good Luck!

Thank you for your lovely, meaningful and TIMELY comment on my blog.

Our town is the site of the National D Day Memorial because Bedford lost more men there per capita than any other place in the country. Their National Guard Unit was the 2nd boat onto Omaha Beach. All but 5 died in the first half hour.
At Point du Hoc there is a quote from a Bedford woman right right between the words of Eisenhower and Churchill.
"Because they cannot keep themselves for a day we’ll keep them forever in memory and give them immortality"

Imagine what those who sacrificed so much for people they didn't even know would think of those who can't even bear the sacrifice of wearing a mask to safeguard others that they do know.

Thanks for the goodie. No regrets, I just did a mini purge of one of my wardrobe. Time to get some new shorts. The one thing I would say is follow your diet plan and listen to your body. If something doesn't sit right in you stomach, stop. Just because you are allowed to eat it, doesn't mean you should eat it. Good luck with this next step.
