4/8/20 - I'm still worried about my husband's high blood-pressure, he's 80 years-old and sort of starting to have a little dementia. At least he can get outside and do some trimming of trees and raking leaves. Since i can't really walk that much with my right knee, I spend my days communicating with my cellphone, iPad and computer with my family. It is really sad to have to feel "Am I taking a risk eating a delicious chicken sandwich at the "new" Popeye's that just opened here last week?" Here in Massachusetts they have closed all unessential businesses and set-up a curfew at 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.I have gained 7 lbs already, but I really need to control myself because my "right knee" can't take anymore weight. When this shut-down is lifted i will want to be able to just "walk"!

3/27/20 - This is a time for me to really evaluate what is really important in my life - I have plenty of time to get in touch with my family on the cellphone texts to my two daughters and on the Facebook portal to my son, DIL and grand-daughter Mila who live in L.A.. My weight is hovering around 200 - 203 because we are self-quarantining here in Massachusetts because of the COVID-19 virus. I'm praying for everyone!!!

9/26/18 - 201.8 It is such a struggle to get back down to 199. I thought I would see what would happen if I ate intuitively. Well I found out I need to consciously plan my eating for the day or I will fall back into the unhealthy habits that made me get to 257. Maintenance means continuing with my healthy eating habits for the rest of my life if I want to stay healthy, which I sure do!

9/1/17 - 205.2 It is shocking I bought a new accurate scale. I checked my records of weight loss and gain for the last 34 years since 1983. I have had 17 years in which I lost weight from the beginning of the year and 17 years in which I have gained weight since the beginning of the year. From 233 in 1983 up to 257 in 2005 then down to 183 in 2011 and this year I'm back up to 208.6 . That is 25 pound gain after having lost 74 pounds. If I can get it back to 199 by the end of 2017 I'll be happy!!!
I can say I'm maintaining since I've kept off 19% of my body weight but 23% would be better!

1/25/13 - 191.8 - My 6 year anniversary with Spark people. On 1/1/13 I weighed 187.4 - 2.2 lbs less than I weighed on 1/1/12 - I achieved my goal for 2012. Now in 2013 I want to stay the same.

10/26/12 - 191.8 - I have joined the Maintenance and Transition to Maintenance team to get help and advice on how to stay at my original goal of 187. It has always been hard for me to keep the weight off once I got to the point where I was aiming for. 183 would be ideal, but I will be happy to stay anywhere in the 180's. That is the idea to finally be happy with what I weigh for the first time in my 65 years - 51 years have been spent "dieting" to get to this achievable number on the weight chart according to my height and frame. Enough already! Stop the insanity! 187 is my personal happy balance point.

9/17/12 - 194.4 - I am going to get back to my daily routine after having a fun summer. I want to at least weigh the same as when I started 2012 not more.

5/22/12 - 183.5 - This is the lowest weight I have been since 1984 when I was going to Diet Workshop.

1/1/12 -189.6 - I want 2012 to be a positive year for me. Being positive about my weight is something new to me. I changed my Spark ID to NEWNANCY 2012 so I can remind myself everyday I have reached my goal. Now comes the very hard work of keeping it there. It has taken me 4 years with Sparkpeople to reach a weight that I am comfortable with. By keeping track of my weight daily, monthly annually and writing down my private feelings in a journal I can look back and see where I am, where I
was and where I want to be.

9/9/20 - thankful that COVID-19 test were negative - starting physical therapy for scoliosis
