I am going to turn 66 in May. My older sister died in her sleep when she was 66. I am here to make sure I maximize my health so that I can continue to be around for my husband, sons, dil, and two toddler granddaughters. I am just under 5 feet tall and my starting weight is 154. I have never been a fast loser, so I am having to tow the line pretty tightly! Excited to be on this journey with so many affirming people. You all inspire me as I read your posts and victories!

Personal Information:
My name, Nene, means grandmother in the African tribal language in which we lived for seven years. It was a name I happily took on when I became a grandmother for the first time in 2016. My husband and I will be married for 40 years one week from today on 4/25/20. I am a home cook from scratch kind of person so having this isolation going on won’t impact the meal I prepare to celebrate this milestone. I have two Maine Coon kitties that turn 14 tomorrow. They are very pampered and love their Mama as much as their Mama loves them. I am retired and my hubby is semi-retired. We just moved to a large townhouse development (not a 55 year and above housing, there are lots of kids around which I enjoy) the end of July 2019. We love it here! As I write this, I am close to the weight goal that I set for myself but now want to lower it another five pounds. I feel comfortable in my own skin now but want to see if my body will settle a little lower. If not, I can already see the health benefits I h

Thanks for stopping by my 5/21 blog. Yeah, I was so disappointed with the blueberries, especially since they were big, and looked so nice and beautiful on the outside. When I went to wash them, I found the "webs" inside. Shucks, maybe next time.

emoticon Thank you for reading my blog.
I didn't mean for that to be the subject of my blog.
He met his GF the 1st day of college. She decided that day that she was going to follow him around for the rest of her life. I am a single mom and he is my only kid. She broke things up between he and his GF. She then put a wedge between he and his friends. So since Christmas break of his 1st year, she has made sure she was his only support system. I talked to my counselor about her and found out she may have mental issues, My counselor told me not to allow her to make a wedge between my son and I. She ended up sleeping on his futon their 2nd year in the dorms. She ended up in a 5 bedroom house with him for the next 2 years. A year ago she graduated and her dad got her a job in another state, He told her to go. She refused. She ended up getting a job near campus and moving herself into his campus 5 bedroom housing. Her parents blame my son for her not taking the job. This year she has managed to put a wedge between my son and everyone but me! Now he is done and job hunting. I felt I was supportive. I want him to get a job that is right for him. All of a sudden he blocked me and I didn't know why! The things he said I said, I never said. I never even thought what he said I said. It's all things his GF feels because she is panicking he will leave the area and break up with her! I am just praying the God will provide the right job for him and that God will allow him the space that he wants her. And the strength to tell her no and stick to it.

emoticon I so appreciate you dropping by, and what you said, too. I was starting out feeling a little sad for Chrissy, but then the kid called (grown and in his own place, but alone there,) with some pain that was affecting his mobility, and wanting to go see a dr. It's all fine, and under control and nothing bad; he's sleeping off a muscle relaxer the dr. prescribed. So, the sad went away because it got really busy! emoticon It just makes me happy that you wrote to me today-thank you! emoticon emoticon
