Looking at my previous paragraph it appears that my updates have marched in-step with the semester changes at school. So, here I am doing the summer shuffle. Lets hope it's a bit more successful than last summer! I'm within 10 pounds of the lifetime goal...we'll keep that in focus.

So, what are my hopes and aspirations for the coming months?
- get back on track with my eating habits
- realize that I honestly don't need dessert every day
- develop a strength training regimen that I can maintain
- reset my brain for life changes

I know from experience SP is a great help to me foodwise. Even if I'm off track, just writing it down is a much-needed wake-up call and my hope is with shorter summer hours this will be a resolution that I can actually meet.

Dessert every day - again, I know from experience this too is doable! It's a matter of routine, and again, from experience I know that if I can keep it on track for two weeks, the cravings recede.

As I see my early 60s in the rear-view mirror I know I'm losing muscle mass every day I don't take action. So, this is simply a have to do! I'm good with cardio/aerobic, I CAN get on board with strength. One. Step. At. A. Time!

Finally, resetting the brain for life. As I said, I've passed the halfway mark into my sixties and retirement is on my mind. I'm taking what feels like a big step in the fall cutting my teaching and doing only advising/administration. While I'll miss parts of teaching, I will so LOVE NOT prepping, grading, and answering student emails after the work day and on weekend. Honestly, right now the thought of this feels like a semi-retirement.

My Goals:
Get below my official WW goal of 140 pounds, I'd love to weigh-in at 135 and have a few pounds of 'cushion', honestly, I'd be thrilled to see that scale go to 139 - heck, at this point breaking into the 140s is a victory!

My Program:
Eating healthier and strength training - keep up the good work with aerobic and cardio that I already rock.

Personal Information:
I live at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Northern Colorado. We enjoy wonderfully mild weather so I've got no excuses for not getting out and moving this old body.

Hey--goodie went off before I finished my sentence. Hahahaha
We have been waiting a year for this show to come to Charlotte. Tickets have been hard to obtain but I finally managed to score 2 more tickets so my daughter/DIL can attend next Friday. We're babysitting for them. Gave this as a combined birthday/anniversary gift. My daughter was a theatre graduate so this is a big deal for her.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

Life is a journey. Keep Calm and set new goals. Remember, the struggle you're in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow. So, never give up on your goals.

    Positive Thought:

Locks are never manufactured without a key. Similarly, God never gives problems without solutions. Only we need to have patience to unlock them throughout our journey.
