Introduction Text I'm ready. I'm my new project. Now the fun of creating the lifestyle that I truly want begins. Tom Venuto: "You can either make excuses or get results, but you can't do both." Toby and Maureen are my walking buddies. They love to go for walks and are so disappointed if we don't do it. I hate the little sad looks they give me when I let them down. Talk about motivation! LOL We try to walk every day. Some days the walks are longer than the others. I've lost significant weight in the recent past but have managed to put it all back on. I have been fighting depression and I don't know which ones the chicken and which ones the egg... did I regain the weight because I'm depressed or am I depressed because I regained the weight? The jury is still out on that one. I love Sparkpeople.com but have struggled with using it for awhile. When you are so blue, it's hard to read about other people's joy. It seemed to make me even more sad. But alas, I'm on the up swing and am working on me. I knew a lot before, just need to see how much I remember. I have to find a little bit of joy in every day. That use to be an easy thing to do! When did it get so hard??? Working on me and my attitude is a great place to start. I want to create new habits. Being thin is only part of my goal, being healthy is the other, most important part. I want to try and achieve an active lifestyle by adding more physical activity to my days. A reborn use-to-be-couch-potato turned athlete.

Not to give up. I know what to do, but not getting discouraged is the hard part. I intend to weigh in on Saturdays. I can't take the stress of weighing in more than once a week!

I have two - four-legged kids (hey! they count) and I love them dearly. I lost Princess Daisy on 7/13/13. I still miss her. I lost Toby on 9/19/14 and am grieving deeply. Maureen and Nicky foot the bill of my aching heart by showing their love every day. I love to walk and try to do some small amount every day. I have DVDs down in the basement and since budgeting is a restriction, need to find free ways to lose weight. I have some equipment but I hate to workout alone. Have to find a exercise buddy.

If only I could lose weight while reading books. I'm an advid reader but find reading on the treadmill difficult.
