Fitness Minutes: 110,423

My Goals:
I have to get my weight down as well as my blood sugar levels. My goal is to lose 10 pounds this time during the 2018 Fall 5% Challenge
My fasting blood sugars have been getting higher so I must exercise and watch what I eat, doctor's orders.


My Program:
Since we are far enough from town to limit joining a gym I have made a nice home gym here. I just need to use it. I have loads of DVDs, a pilates reformer, fitness ball, weight and bands.
Watching my carb intake makes all the difference in my blood sugar levels. I am not sure just how low I can consistently go with my carbs. I eat and test to see what is working and what does not. Basically no eating of nasty white stuff: sugar, flour, etc.
In order to reach my goals tracking is a must as well as 30 minutes plus exercise each day.



Personal Information:
I am 68, been on Sparks a long time and will always be a Firecracker. We are originally from Baltimore, MD and now live in wild, wonderful WV! I miss some of the convenience of 'city' life but do love country living even if it takes 25 minutes to get to town. My 2 children are grown and I miss them so I spy on FB whenever I can!!


Other Information:
I use Lose It to track my food because I don't have to be online to do it. I have had a Fitbit since 2010. I love Walk It Out on my Wii, still enjoy looking for the rainbow! We bought a used RPod Camper over the winter and I have really enjoyed camping.

    Thank you for also adding me as a spark friend. I have so many cookbooks. Here are Some of my favorites. I have all the Taste of Home annual books since 1994 when they first came out. I have 5 Pioneer Woman cookbooks and all 5 of Marlene Koch cookbooks which I use a lot. She has healthy recipes and has family members with diabetes so all her recipes have nutritional info, are diabetic friendly and have Weight Watcher points and her recipes are very tasty. Looking forward to getting to know you. Looks like we have a lot in common. Have a good night.
