Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
It's pretty easy, just go to geocaching.com , sign up with a username, find your location on their map, then look for caches near you. Start with ones that are fairly easy to find with just a map to get, like ones where there's just one tree that it can be hiding in or a lamppost in a parking lot. It gives you a rating system to figure out how hard it will be to find, with terrain and difficulty. If the terrain is a 3, then expect to be climbing hills, a 1 is usually a flat surface, 2 is most of the time through some tall grass. Difficulty should be a 1 or a 1.5 to begin with, those are pretty easy to find. Many times it's just about looking for something that normally wouldn't be there. I enjoy it with my mom and I know that the kids have fun looking for them with me sometimes too, when I can get them to go.

You go out into the world, find the physical cache, sign your username to it, then come back to the computer and sign the virtual log to keep up with the ones you have found.

If you get serious into it, a hiking gps really helps, especially when you're going deep woods.

Either way you can do it how you want and how hard you want. I enjoy it because I'm out with my mom and we are doing something besides shopping or eating.
