14 years of striving to live a more healthy life through all the wonderful resources offered here on Sparkpeople. Many good days and many no so good days but still here and learning something new each and every day and have enjoyed the many online friendships with team members.

I am a 74 year old baby boomer born, raised, and currently living in the "Show-Me State of Missouri" after a twenty year journey as a military wife. I recently semi-retired from the field of rental property management by working in the office only 3 days a week with a goal of full retirement in September of 2021.

I am a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother. My daughter and a granddaughter who live close by and visit frequently. A son and his wife that reside in Arkansas and have grown sons who have given me a great-grandson and a great-granddaughter. I am further blessed with a guardian angel son who is no longer with us here on earth but will always be in my heart.

I love motivational quotes and Sparkpeople has several that I enjoy and try to implement in my daily life.

I was diagnosed with C.O.P.D. in 2001 and have been on supplemental oxygen since 2015 and heart disease/surgery in
2019. I firmly believe my years on Spark has helped with these life challenges and continue to help me live a more healthy lifestyle.

My Goals:
To live a life that is healthy and happy.
Do my strength/flexibility exercises each a.m.
Use Silver Sneakers program at our local community center and online,
Use the Sparkpeople trackers daily.
Nutrition Commitment:
Healthy mindful eating concentrating on fruits, veggies and whole grains. Staying within the recommended calorie range, making an extra effort to drink my 8 glasses of water daily.

My Program:
1. Stay mindful and in control of night time eating.
2. Do not be a couch potato! Stay Active. No excuses-Do my daily exercises.
3. Portion Control. Use smaller dishes. Wait 20 minutes to see if I are still hungry. Try drinking water first.
4. Wear the Fitbit daily and reach my goal of 5000 steps.

Personal Information:
I like to play Bunco and play a couple nights a month with a group of fun loving people.
I belong to the local Lion's Club and enjoy the activities and service we provide to the community.
I belong to a wine tasting group that meets once a month.
I enjoy attending local theater productions.

Other Information:
I try to check in with Sparkpeople daily as it keeps me motivated and I enjoy visiting with my Sparkfriends and participating in the challenges that keep me on track.

    Hi Just stopping by to say hi and saw your picture next to mine for motivator. I guess we are doing something right. Keep up the good work and I will be pushing hard to. I'm starting to like myself a little better after losing 120 pounds this year so far without a gain yet. It's people like you and the lord that has help me make it this far.
