Twelve years of living a more healthy lifestyle through Sparkpeople and I am still learning and absorbing changes with each new day. The weight is at a standstill but my body is feeling so much more healthy with better nutrition and increased activity, which seems to amaze my doctors. I am a 73 year old baby boomer born, raised, and currently living in the "Show-Me State of Missouri", after a twenty year journey as a military wife. I recently semi-retired from the field of rental property management by working in the office only 3 days a week. I am a proud mother & grandmother. My daughter lives just a few miles from me, a granddaughter who is attending college in Iowa. son and his wife that reside in Arkansas with two their two sons and a grandson. I am further blessed with a guardian angel son who is no longer with me on earth but is always in my heart. I love motivational quotes and Sparkpeople has several that I enjoy and try to implement in my daily life.

Fitness Minutes: 83,366

My Goals:
To live a life that is healthy and happy.
Do my strength/flexibility exercises each a.m.
Use Silver Sneakers program at our local community center.
Use the Sparkpeople trackers daily.
Nutrition Commitment:
Healthy mindful eating, .concentrating on fruits, veggies and whole grains. Staying within the recommended calorie range, making an extra effort to drink my 8 glasses of water daily.


My Program:
1. Stay mindful and in control of night time eating.
2. Do not be a couch potato! Stay Active. No excuses-Do my daily exercises.
3. Portion Control. Use smaller dishes. Wait 20 minutes to see if I are still hungry. Try drinking water first.
4. Wear the Fitbit daily and reach my goal of 6000 steps.



Personal Information:
I like to play Bunco and play a couple nights a month with a group of fun loving people.
I belong to the local Lion's Club and enjoy the activities and service we provide to the community.
I belong to a wine tasting group that meets once a month.
I enjoy attending local theater productions.


Other Information:
I try to check in with Sparkpeople daily as it keeps me motivated and I enjoy visiting with my Sparkfriends and participating in the challenges that keep me on track.

    Here is the recipe you asked for...

    Applesauce Banana Oat Muffins

    Ingredients:

    1 cup old fashioned oats
    1 cup unsweetened applesauce
    1 banana, mashed
    2-3 tablespoons peanut butter
    1/2 cup milk
    1 large egg
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    4 tablespoons butter
    1/3 cup sugar
    3/4 cup all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt

    Directions:

    -Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place muffin tin liners in muffin cups or grease them.

    -In a medium bowl, stir together the oatmeal, applesauce, mashed banana, peanut butter, egg, and sugar.

    -In a separate (large) bowl, whisk together the baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

    -Combine flour mixture into medium bowl.

    -Pour batter into muffin cups.

    -Bake for 20 minutes.

    I know my oxygen machine is so much trouble to haul around. It's noisy when you are in a quiet room too. It's a lot of trouble anymore just to get dressed and ready to go anywhere so here I sit, day after day. Depression is a horrible thing and I pray we both get better!
