I rebooted my program Nov 17 2017 and I've been back with it for a month now. So in celebration of my first 5 lbs lost, I'm updating my sparkpage! I'm struggling with an undiagnosed illness which makes exercise in more than very modest quantities ill advised. So this time around, my program is all about taking it slow and steady. Modest goals, careful calorie counting and those 10 min/day exercise goals. I'm hoping to slowly bump that to 30, but I have to be careful. So far, it's working! I'm using gorilla workout (app) for strength training and watching videos on youtube for yoga routines. Some days I cheat a little and just log my steps from Google fit as my exercise (like when I work, my job can involve a lot of steps, or when I run errands in the city, it's a whole day on my feet). Either way, it's working. I set a 1lb/week weight loss goal and don't fully expect to achieve it because it's not always possible for me to create a 500 calorie deficit. I'm only 5"4' and the difference between that 1200cals and my BMR is only around 200 cals. Sparkpeople adds on normal daily activities (like assuming a desk job, and errands) when my reality is that I'm closer to bedridden 3-4 days a week. And I can work to build muscle, but it's not a great idea for me to try to "burn calories" with excess cardio because my body can't keep up with my energy needs no matter how I feed it. So, on a bad day, with my 10 min exercise and the amount of activity I do in the house, we're maybe getting a 300cal deficit if I eat bang on 1200cals. So I think I can hope for 1/2 lb/week going forward.

Thanks for commenting on my comment on the biggest loser challenge. I think that is the mentality that i have: "i ate bad today, so I will do good starting tomorow." I have always had a problem thinking this way. But today is a new day and I didn't do great this morning, but I am working it out to be within my calories for the day by eating healthy tonight. Hopefully I can keep it up!

    Thanks for your post.
My granddaughter is 8 y/o she is a twin. Her fraternal sister is typical except she is hearing impaired and wears hearing aids. They have the greatest relationship.

Good luck on your journey to better fitness.

    GOOD MORNING EVERYONE.
It's a beautiful day here in New York City.
I will be out for the whole day today. It is my sons birthday. We will be going to dinner this evening. Not to worry I already did the tracker. Steak, half of a baked potato(will share with hubby),salad and a diet coke. One bite of my sons birthday cake, for luck. Will stay on track.
Grandson is coming too. We will be taking him to Van Cortlandt Park, to the duck pond to feed the ducks and then to play ground. So lots of walking today, bending and pushing grandnson on the swing.
    Enjoy your weekend
