Introduction Text For 34 years of my life I was living half-way. I felt like as long as I exercised every now and then, I could eat anything I wanted. That was fine when I was in the middle of training for marathons, but when kids came along my mileage dropped and my waistline expanded. SparkPeople to the rescue! I'm finally addressing both sides of my health picture and feeling better than I have in a long time. I'm running better too. It was only a little effort on my part, but what a difference it's made!

1. Lose 15 pounds. 2. Drop cholesterol numbers. 3. Compete in a half-marathon. 4. Train for marathon. 5. Qualify for Boston Marathon.

1. Portion control - don't over-eat! 2. Don't drink your calories. I'm sticking with water and no calorie beverages 3. Eat filling low calorie foods 4. Run, run, run. 5. Oh yeah, add a little strength training.

My name is Mike. I'm originally from Erie, Pa, but I've been living in Washington, DC, one of the best cities in the world, for the past 10 years. I have a wonderful wife and 3 boys 5 1/2, 2 1/2, and 14 months. Life is good!
