I used in 2010 and lost 18 pounds! Then I stopped working out but stayed the same weight for a while then gained it all back from stress eating. This year I've gone through a lot of things including my dad being diagnosed with brain cancer. After seeing him in the state that he is in, I know I don't want to make my family members have to see me like that. By getting myself healthy I can help get rid of those chances of different types of cancers, heart problems and so forth.

    I saw your post in the Wii Fit Challenge about completing the Expert level of Island Cycling. Congrats!!! Just think of all those calories you burned while cycling around the island.

    I ADORE tennis...and the hardest thing about moving to RI was parting with my doubles partner...we are still best friends, but I haven't played tennis, since I moved up here to care for my parents....

    I know the pain of dealing with family members with cancer, but you CAN'T let that make you turn to food...I will keep you and your dad in my prayers...keep working towards your diet goals...being overweight and having cancer in your family background increases your chances of developing it yourself...and that's the LAST thing your father would want for when you are tempted to eat the wrong things, you can't let yourself use that as an excuse...he wants you to be healthy....

    I picked up Too Much Happiness: Stories by Alice Munro from the library yesterday. I still have several library books to read (just finished The Vintage Caper by Peter Mayle and am reading Yours Ever: People and Their Letters by Thomas Mallon. That leaves Blame by Michelle Huneven, April and Oliver by Tess Callahan, The Vagrants by Yiyun Li, Azorno by Inger Christensen and The Magicians by Lev Grossman. As you can probably tell, I love to read just about anything.
