Introduction Text February 19, 2020 Hello Friends! Not sure how many of you are still here from when I was last active on Spark, but I am finally back! I am now a cancer survivor, trying to stay in remission as long as possible by eating healthy and getting down to a healthy weight. I look forward to continuing my journey with new friends and old! Love, MatterOfHeart June, 2014 Well, friends, here I am, 1 1/2 years into my jouney, and it appears that I am trying to gain all of my weight back! I am now up 30 pounds from my original 70 that I lost the first year! My goal this summer is to get back to that confident, healthy, woman you see in the picture to the left, who is ready to conquer those mountains! I am ready and I believe that I can do it again! I have joined a 5% Summer team to help me along the way. I am now on the Champions in the Kitchen team and I am very excited to get to know and cheer on my new teammates! Hopefully, next time I update this page, it will be to tell you how I have succeeded over the summer! October, 2013 "You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. One year ago I decided to take my life back! My cholesterol was high, I was having heart palpatations, and I felt hopeless! My wakeup call came from my cardiologist who gave me 3 months to lower the cholesterol or go on medications! As you can see below, mission accomplished! Since that date, I have lost 50 pounds (20 in the months before), I have participated in 4 5Ks, and I have met awesome friends through Spark People to help me through the journey! I surprised not only my doctor, but myself! At this point, there is no doubt that I will one day succeed! I have the tools I need to get me where I want to go and my support system is in place. This is my life! I choose where I go from here, and I choose health! If you need encouragement on this journey, please friend me, and I will do my best to cheer you to the finish line! Here are my cholesterol numbers... 10-24-12 Cholesterol Numbers Total - 259 HDL - 42 LDL - 179 triglycerides - 168 BP - 126/90 4/30/13 Update 55 pounds gone! New Cholesterol Numbers Total - 195 HDL - 35 LDL - 144 triglycerides - 78 BP - 120/80



Eating whole foods, 8 glasses of water per day, and working with personal trainer.

I am a Texas girl! I love music and am the pianist at my church. I have 2 adult kids and 1 bonus baby still living at home! I am trying to change my health and my life by making one good choice at a time. I forgive myself when I mess up and move on. I love the support and success I have found on SparkPeople!!!
