My boy's are older and on there way into adulthood. I want them to lead full healthy active lives. They learn by example, it's time for me to make a change and get it in gear. I want all of us to live a long, healthy and active life. So here I go....

UPDATE: I leave up my first postings because It reminds me that I can be successful. I have gained back the weight, had breast cancer and am now determined to get MY LIFE BACK, cancer can't have it.

April 27 2008, well it's been 4 months and I've lost 25 pounds, I can't believe that this is really working, but it is and everyone is getting healthier not just me.

May 29 2008, I've lost 1/2 the weight!! I have gotten rid of 30 ugly pounds, I have 30 more to go! I feel so much better, I have a lot more energy too. I have climbed my first mountain, a small step on my way to my first high peak. It is so impowering to set a goal and see it actually happen. I could not have done any of this with out my great husband and Spark people!!

July 30 2008 I'm hanging in there. I have not lost but I have not gained so I'm OK with that. I hiked 10 miles to the Santanoni great camp last Saturday and I have tried to walk at least 3 nights a week.

October 14 2008 Still doing OK, I've hiked so much I've worn out my hikers!! Love it and I've seen some amazing things. check out my new pics, I'll be back at this full swing in a few weeks. As long as the weather holds camp is open!

December 26 2008 It's time to Re-Focus, it's been tough since we closed camp and I am having a hard time getting into a good winter routine. So I am going to get the house cleaned and organized these next few days and start my new year with less clutter in the house and in my body!! I've lost 1/2 of the weight and kept it off, but now it's time to lose the rest!

My Goals:
My goal is to lose at least 50 pounds and exercize on a regular basis. I want to become more comfortable with how I look and have more energy. I want to feel physically fit! This summer I want to climb a mountain in the adirandacks the last time I did was 10 years ago

Funny how my goals haven't changed even as I get to 2016

My Program:
I am starting over after breast cancer so I am keeping track of the calories I eat and trying to eat more healthy foods. I am also adding in exercise as I can to build up my strength. Don't know if I can lose any weight because of the meds but I want to have more energy.

Personal Information:
MORE CURRENT UPDATE: 4 yrs cancer free, 6 months since my last surgery. 7 total surgeries and 3 in office procedures. 3 Biopsies, 3 ultrasounds-enough enough enough! Thank GOD for modern medicine and amazing Doctors and family. Time to just be healthy!

3 years out from double mastectomy and 1 year out from any surgery. Off meds and trying this with healthy living. Grateful for the amazing men in my life who have gotten me through with laughter and love that I could have never imagined.

ANOTHER UPDATE: 9 years smoke free

UPDATE : It's been 7 years since I stopped smoking

I quit smoking 14 monthd ago. I had smoked for 23 years and quitting was the hardest personal challenge I have ever had, now I've gained weight and I'll beat that too.

May 2008, 18 months with out smoking, and I finally don't miss it and food is not a substitute under stress.

October 21, 2008, 2 full years with out smoking!!

I had lost 35 pounds, I've gained it all back while dealing with the stress of a mother-in-law with terminal cancer. But I never picked up a cigarette. So now I get to loss it all again! I'll be back at this full force after the holiday.

It's been over 4 years since I've smoked, I need to loss all the weight all over again, but at least I never picked up another cigarette. I need to learn how to handle stress. Before smoking was how I handeled everything. It's like I need to punish
