I am 65 years old and a breast cancer survivor, Had an illiostomy in 2007 when chemo shredded my colon. I was told it was not reversable but I recently found a surgeon who was able to fashion a small colon out of my small intestine. Its different but working good & I am very happy with the results. I have 3 children, 2 adults and 1 taken from us by a drunken driver when she was 18. My wonderful hubby and I have been married for 45 years. I am looking to improve my health and grow old gracefully.
I continue to meet small goals that I have set for myself with the help of Spark People. So far after8 months I am down 25 lbs. and have reached my goal.

Fitness Minutes: 36,961

My Goals:
Loose 25 lbs. Get rid of my spare tire. Fit into some nice looking clothes. Eat healthy, get fit and take better care of myself.


My Program:
Walking 30-60 minutes a day. Twice a day weather permitting.
Weight training 30min 3 X week.
Stretching 20 minutes a day.
I go to CURVEs 3-4 times a week.



Personal Information:
I was born in Dublin, Ireland. I have 5 sisters & 5 brothers. We are all very close. I lived & worked in NJ for many years. After the death of our daughter we retired to the Pocono Mountains, PA.
My hubby & I work with miniatures for a hobby. He builds dollhouses, little stores, shops and a General Store. I decorate with his help and I do the eletric.
I do volunteer work with the handicapped. I have 2 developmentally disabled adults that I work with. I take them to doctor appointments, have them to dinner & short vacations at my home.


Other Information:
I am a 2 year breast cancer survivor. Have had reconstructive surgery. Had a reversal of my iliostomy this past October. I colect Irish memoriabilia, odd or different rosary beads & dollhouse miniatures.

    they say that for every pound you lose, it's 4 pounds of pressure off your joints---so if you think of 31/2 pounds like that it is even more of an accomplishment. It's a slow go for many of us...I started with weight watchers last christmas and am "only" down 30lbs....but 30 pounds less than last year is still pretty good. I'd rather have the loss slow and keep it off, then take it off in 4 mos and gain it all back plus more as I've done in the past.
    are you doing any exerise...I do walking and an old Richard Simmons dance tape (that I can't do any of the moves to and look bombastic but I just keep moving, glad no one is around to see. :o) Have a good night.
