    Hi Lisa!~
Finally I can write back! I told my mom about you and your situation and the info you gave me about Fibromyalgia. She never heard of Savella. I told her to ask her Dr. about it.
Yesterday she said that I was motivating her. SHe said she has been trying to do a little exercising. I told her how you said exercise would really help, so I hope she can try moving more even. Thank you again for all the information on this.
I also read your post from ( I think Yesterday ) about your life story. Wow, you sure have gone through some rough stuff lady! I've gone through a lot of terrible things in my life too but your past problem sure outbeat mine.
You do help us all with your story and overcoming so much!!!!
I hope I can write you soon and tell you that my mom is actually walking around the house again without her walker. She will use the walker, but not a wheel chair.
I'm sorry to here about your mom passing away at such a young
age. Some people may not think that's young but I do.
I think I'm living to 100 years old - that's my plan! :) My grandparents were both 99 and living in a nursing home when they both passed away, just shy of 100 each. They were so cute together!
I'm so glad your here and as always - Thank you for the encouragement: from me and my Mom!

I think one of the bad things about fibromyalgia is the depression (I'm not sure if they just go together or if depression actually causes the fibro) because it makes everything more difficult. It makes the pain worse, you don't want to exercise, it's easier to stay in bed, etc.

Unfortunately the weight is your mom's biggest problem & can & will just get worse if she doesn't make some really hard serious choices.

My mother was very stubborn too. She was an alcoholic & was diagnosed with MS in her early 40's. She refused to do ANYthing the doctor told her to do. She wouldn't exercise or quit drinking. By the time she was 49 she was in a nursing home, in a wheelchair. She lost all mobility except for the use of one hand.

She died at the age of 61 from pneumonia complicated by the MS. She also suffered from depression but was never diagnosed(& wouldn't have done anything about it anyway!) I know what you mean about watching them suffer & not having any control or say so.

I personally believe the pain meds made my pain worse. (& I relapsed with alcohol because of them) Looking back on that time now I realize it. My fibro was WAY worse then!!! My doctor (she actually lost her job over it) had me on HUGE doses of meds. I'm lucky I didn't overdose or accidentally kill myself when I relapsed.

As weird as it sounds the exercise is what started making my pain go away! You probably can't convince your mom though! I remember when the doctor I have now prescribed exercise for the pain I literally LOL! I thought she was nuts. Most days I could barely get out of bed & she wanted me to exercise(& with NO pain meds!!!)....I thought she was trying to kill me!

Thank you for your kind words about me being amazing (I fully admit it! HA!) but I'm not near as dedicated to my exercise as I want to be. My exercise has been sporadic for awhile now. That's part of why I came back to Spark...I NEED accountability!!!

As far as helping others, I don't know if you read my page or not but somebody else has to learn SOMETHING/ANYTHING from my life besides just me or God & me are going to have a serious talk. I'll be really mad if I'm the only one who had to learn something from everything I've been through (& did to myself!!!!)

I appreciate you being my friend too! I just came over to see your pictures when I saw that you'd written to me. (Click on my picture & then on my page click on 'leave a comment' so I don't miss you, k?) You look great!!!

God blesses us all...we just need to look for it sometimes! God bless you too! Have a great day & hopefully we'll 'chat' soon!

Thank you so much Lisa - I will try the picture download again.
I will tell my mom about the Savella that you mentioned. I don't think she takes that. I know her biggest problem is her weight. It makes me want to cry every time I see her and in all that pain. Her knees are becoming useless to her now. She will have to be in a wheel chair soon I'm afraid. SHe is very stubborn though and doesn't want to here anything about a wheel chair.
She doesn't have internet and can't afford it. I wish she could get on SP. Years ago she tried weight watchers. THe problem is she has never been able to exercise because she has all the body pain and that started when she was in her early 30's :( She is so obese now and doesn't even know how much she weighs.
You are an amazing woman! You've gone through a lot and so dedicated to your workouts now and helping others. I sure appreciate having you as a friend! emoticon
I don't get on the computer as much as I'd like, that's why I didn't read what you had wrote a couple of days ago -sorry I didn't get back to you right away.
Have a wonderful day! God Bless YOU!
