I am 62 and live at the northern tip of NH, have been married to my DH for over 30 years and have a son who is a culinary and pastry chef at Sunday River Ski Resort in Maine.

My goals have changed a lot lately. I am learning that this is a long term lifestyle journey to a healthier me. Healthy eating, exercise, commitment, honesty, and learning to like the person on the inside. She is someone that I want to get to know and never knew.

I have goals that aren't about simply about weight loss, but about exercise and nutrition which is totally new for me. I also made an oath that is to myself and to the team I am a leader for.


I do solemnly pledge:
that I will do my best to eat healthy and within my calorie range,
that I will exercise to the best of my ability,
that I will watch my portions and avoid mindless eating,
that I will avoid or limit unhealthy foods,
that I will try to get enough sleep,
that I will stretch myself out of my comfort zone,
that I will always try to make healthy choices even when stressed,
that if I slip, I will get back on track with the very next opportunity,
that I will keep a CAN DO attitude, or ask for Help,
and that I will support my fellow pack mates

Because I am an UnderDawg
And every UnderDawg has the heart of a hero.
My long term goals are:
1. Stay within a calorie range of of 1300 (or slightly less)-1650 calories a day.

2. I will log everything I eat (good or bad). I will also strive to increase my fiber intake.

3. I will track my fitness on a daily basis.

4. I will do 90 minutes of cardio on good days and no less than 30 minutes on not so good days - 6 days a week-no excuses. Anything extra is a bonus!

5. I will strength train a minimum of 3 times a week-no excuses.

6. I will work to improve my mobility issues and become stronger along the way.

7. I will make every effort to reach my 5% goal each challenge.

8. I will post these goals in a place where I can see them on a daily basis.

9. I will weigh-in weekly.

Embrace the Future
If you're busy hugging the past, you can't embrace the future. Don't let the past kidnap your future.

Fitness Minutes: 88,968

My Goals:
1. Learn to see the person hiding inside!

2. To reach my goal weight of 155 pounds. I will see how I feel when I reach that weight about going further.

3. Fit into a size 12 (or smaller) jeans .

4. Swim 10 laps with ease.

5. Complete the Spring 5% Challenge and lose 5% of my body weight.

My Program:
1. Measure and track ALL food that I eat, no matter if it is healthy food or "Junk Food"
2. Exercise regularly (cardio & strength training) and track it.
3. Remember that if I begin to skip steps 1 or 2, then the next day is Day 1!!

    Thanks for the good wishes! Since you and your DH had a laugh at my entry, I will tell you its history. My late husband was such a great kidder...during his last illness he asked me what I was going to do after he was gone. I popped off with that list of activities. He had a good laugh over it. It has been 8 years, and last year I finally visited Key West. But the others are just part of a silly family joke. Especially the gigolo... men being the way they are, I figure that's the only way I would have a willing partner for every dance!
