Hi everyone! I''m Melissa, a Wife to 1, Mom to 1, Step-Mom to 2 and stay-at-home Momma! We live just outside of St. Louis, MO (on the Illinois side).

I''ve struggled with my weight my entire life, and I''ve been to SP multiple times since I was a teen (even before they had a specific SP for kids). I''m pretty much done trying to see results fast. Every time before I''ve set a deadline of 2lbs per week and I have not succeeded. (Well a little, and then not so much!) This time around I am aiming for 1lb per week and if more comes off, great! I struggle with emotional eating and boredom eating especially.

That is amplified even more since I am home all day with 3 kiddos! (Well, 1, since my step-daughters are school-age) So my access to food is generally unlimited.

I will be charting my successes every Wednesday. My usual weigh-in is on Fridays, but since I am doing the SP Biggest Loser Challenge, I will be weighing in on Wednesdays!

Mini Goal by 12/25 - 200lbs (MET? YES/NO)

My Goals:
I would like to have a slow and steady weight loss. Hopefully 1lb per week, but any decrease on the scale/size will be considered a success!

One of my biggest motivations is the recent death of my Dad, he struggled with his health all his life and passed from complications due to a heart attack that no one knew he had years ago (not even himself). I'm dedicating myself to breaking the chain of unhealthiness in my family, so that my kids can grow up learning how to be healthy.

My Program:
Making time to take a walk as often as possible. And making smart decisions with food. Nothing is off-limits, but everything is in moderation. We are terribly addicted to fast food, but I always eat it within my allergy and nutrition goals!

I have to eat gluten free, not by choice, but because of an allergy. This is terribly difficult for me, as I love any and all things bread.
