My highest weight ever was 245. I lost some weight in the stress of finishing my thesis, but then decided to do the rest of getting back down to a healthy weight in an actually healthy way... and did so in 2007-2008 with the help of SP!

I've successfully maintained a healthy BMI with interruptions for pregnancy, and as our family grew I kept up a focus on healthy eating and exercising. Now I'm a mom of four, looking to lose the last 20 lbs left over from my last pregnancy, and then shift into maintenance for the long haul.

My Goals:
My goals are still the same as they were a decade ago: I want to be healthy, for myself and for my (now-not-hypothetical) family! First that means getting my post-baby body back to a healthy BMI.

I'd also like to ramp up my running and get back into running half marathon distances again - the full marathons might be a bit much with the ages of my kids (toddler through elementary) but I'd like my long runs on the weekends to regularly reach 10 miles again.

My Program:
Back to tracking food to recalibrate eating for one now that my body is completely my own. Running 3-4 times per week, for stress relief as much as for physical benefits.

Personal Information:
When I'm not wrangling my kids or reading, I'm a lecturer at the local university, fixing up my 110 year old farmhouse (complete with chicken coop) and running a cub scout pack. I'm a lifelong ovo-lacto vegetarian, who has expanded into fish and other seafood in adulthood.

    Hey long time no see! Congrats on the additions to your family! I was away for awhile for the exact opposite reason - hysterectomy and menopause. I gained about 50 pounds back due to some GI issues that are now under control, but have lost 40 of it since February. Thanks for the message, and keep up the great work!

    Thanks for your message! My marathon training overall is going okay, although I had to skip my long run (16 miles) this week because I'm sick :( Next week was supposed to be an "easy" week, so I'm going to work my long run in there and get back on track. Overall, I'm not too worried about it though, training's been going well. Congrats on your half marathon! I did a 10k last Saturday and finished 2nd in my age group, improved my time 6 minutes over last year's time in the same race. Happy running!
