I have been a member of sparkpeople since 2008 when Mayor Mick challenged Oklahoma City to lose a million pounds. Well, I did my part that year, but I fell off the wagon at some point.

You know the saying, "If you're tired of starting over, stop quitting"? That's me every year. So this year, I am dedicated to making this a lifestyle change, not another diet. This is not starting over for me because this year is about taking all I've learned from past experience. It's getting back on track after an extended cheat period.

I plan to run 7 half marathons this year. And I'm not going to use training as an excuse to eat anything I want anymore. It's not easy to haul 170 pounds 13.1 miles!

I need to lose 20 more but I'm going to be happy for every nonscale accomplishment.

Fitness Minutes: 112,786

My Goals:
I want to lose 17 more pounds. (I don't think the weight on my driver's liscense has ever been accurate.) I would love to be able to run a 5k. I want to help my daughter and husband live a healthy lifestyle. I want to look HOT in a swimsuit on spring break!

My Program:
I do 30 minutes of cardio on lift days and 30 minutes on non-lift days. I try to eat clean and keep my calorie intake below 1600 per day. I try to jog for the full 30 minutes at least once per week. I cook healthy meals 5 nights per week and try to help my family make good choices at fast food restaurants. I lift 3 times per week.

Personal Information:
I have lived in NW OKC for 12 years

Other Information:
I am 46 years old, married for 23 years, and have a 21 year old daughter. I teach 7th grade English. I love to read and play golf. I am going to run the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon in 2018!

lank-challenge I am doing one full one and the rest modified planks. After I finish the 8 weeks, I will try it with the full planks and see.

I totally understand about the 20 pounds. I'm the same way. A few years ago, I was down 10 pounds less than I am now. I got to a certain number and then I gained a little and never looked back, that's how I got to where I am today.
Thanks for your comments. We can do this together.

No more yo-yoing. Maintenance is the MAIN thing and hanging out with like minded sparkers is a great way to make it happen.
