Still struggling for any type of consistency in my weight!

I've lost weight in the past through Weigh Down Workshop, then gained it back again when I stopped following those principles.

Then we started Spark People-I was tracking every calorie and eating right - and was able to loose most of the weight again. Until I started getting careless and letting the calories creep back up, eating what I wanted, when I wanted, and of course - the results are predictable.

Then a couple years ago I took up running/walking and again lost weight. This was the best I've ever felt because I was getting fit physically not just losing weight. I've never, ever in my life had a regular exercise that I enjoyed - but my morning runs were actually a part of my routine - for over a year! ...Until life got in the way and I let it slip...all the way back to eating carelessly and no exercise. So of course, back come the pounds. (SIGH)

We adopted a dog that bugs me every morning at 5am to go out for our 2-2.5 mile walk. I'm hoping that with that and controlling my food the weigh will come off again.

I also need to control my salt intake better. I have Meniere's so low sodium is key to keeping things under control.
Yet another reason to use the food tracker.

I just love food and love to eat...but I don't love what I've allowed that food to do to my body!

My Goals:
I've lost weight in the past, only to get careless and regain. This is for life. I am in my 50's yrs and working hard to get in better shape!


My Program:
In Feb 2012 I started the C25K program and ran my first 5k at the end of April. Since then I've been learning all I can about running and working to improve. I love it and what it's doing for me! I run 3-4 times a week and do strength training on the alternate days.


UPDATE: I've fallen off the wagon...and it's time to get back on! 2018 and time to get this weight off for good! I walk every morning - 2 - 2.5 miles...although not always very vigorous since the dog has to stop and sniff a lot. I need to do strength training badly too!



Personal Information:
Born & raised in MN but now living in Colorado with my husband. We have 2 grown sons and a daughter in law.

I have recently changed jobs but still working at a desk all day. I have a stand up desk so at least I can stand up periodically. I come home feeling very tired and just want to veg...even though I know I should be more active apathy sets in.


Other Information:
I love animals, horses, dogs, cats...you name it. I'm much more comfortable around animals than people. :)

For fun I like to read, watch movies, go walking & exploring, & surfing online.
