My Weight Loss Journey...
My weight loss journey started when I turned 30. I got a bit scared becoming a year older...and entering my 30's. I said goodbye to my 20's forever and hopefully I will be able to say goodbye to my being overweight forever too. Here's to a better future!

Well, let's see. I've been overweight and in denial my entire life pretty much. I grew up in a home with lots of love and lots of good food and no exercise. None of my family ever exercised and never encouraged it either. I thought it was totally normal not to exercise. They weren't really active either so it made it even harder to lose weight while still living with them. Even when I moved out I had a hard time losing simply because I was single and it was always easier to go eat fast food somewhere. I never knew what to do about my weight anyway. I was always so blind when it came to eating healthy and exercising. I always thought people were blessed with high metabolisms and that's how they never gained any weight. I just considered myself unlucky and this is the way I'm suppose to be for the rest of my life. When I turned 30 I went through what they call a sort of midlife crisis. It didn't last long at all. Really! It only lasted one day! =) One day I decided to stop drinking soda for one month, just to see what would happen. Well, I lost about 8 pounds in one month by not drinking soda. No exercise...just not drinking soda and drinking more water. I was amazed! I just kept going. I told my husband how it sucked that I had to wait 8 months to get a gym membership and he said "why not get one now?" So out we went to buy some workout shoes and work out clothes for me, and there I went one day to the gym to get an hour with the trainer. And here I am now. 65 pounds lighter and feeling a lot better about myself. I have many ups and downs though and I know I still have a long way to go. I hope I don't lose hope and go back to my old ways. I want to stay motivated for as long as I can. I know I will stay strong! I just got to keep looking at the big prize that's waiting for me at the end of this journey! :-)
Here's to a better future. A bright one! :-)
Hmm let's see I'm 5'1" (very short! lol)
My starting weight was about 202 pounds (about 92 kilos) (back in September 2010) about a BMI of 38.2
My current weight as of March 25, 2011 is 158 pounds (71.8 kilos) and a BMI of 29.9
April 2, 2011 156.9 pounds (71.3 kilos) and a BMI of 29.6
Next weigh in day is April 16th, 2011!!!
4-16-11 ... 152.9 pounds (69.5 kilos) and BMI of 28.9!
4-23-11 ... 151.8 pounds (69 kilos) and BMI of 28.7!
5-7-11... 150 pounds (68.2 kilos) and BMI 28.3!
My goal weight right now is about 120-125 pounds (about 54-56 kilos) and between a BMI of 22.7 and 23.6
When I reach my goal I will see how I feel about it and if I feel I can lose a bit more then I'll go for it! A normal weight for someone my height is anywhere between 105-130 pounds. :) So we'll see!!!

My Goals:
To be healthy. Have more energy. Reach my goal weight of 125 pounds. About 55kilos! Can't wait! My first big goal weight is 130 pounds. Then I'll take it from there ;-)
My Program:
I exercise 4-5 times a week at the gym. I take classes as well as get on the treadmill when I can. So far I'm taking Zumba, Body Pump, Body Combat, Body Balance, a Step class, and Spinning.
Not counting calories but mostly making my calories count. ;-) I try my best to make my food healthier (more veggies and less fatty unhealthy stuff). I still make my favorites but healthier and my portions are much smaller than before.
Personal Information:
I'm Loida. I'm from Colorado, USA but living in Norway at the moment. We are in the process of moving though. June 2011 will be my first month living in the States again.
Other Information:
I love Photography! It's right up here with working out!
I love working with clay, mostly making miniature food and miniatures for doll houses!
I love art and artsy things. :-)
I love color!
I love to cook and bake. I just wish I had more time for it!
And my most recent favorite of mine is exercise! I love working out at the gym!
