Hi! I am starting this page in order to hold myself accountable as I attempt to implement a healthier lifestyle. Thanks to my little sister for telling me about SP! Once I reach my goals, I hope to enjoy a "second honeymoon" with my husband on a tropical island somewhere...

My Goals:
I need to lose 100+ pounds in order to reach a healthy goal weight/BMI. I have tried many diets in the past and I have failed BIG TIME...In fact, I end up gaining the weight back plus even more weight! It's very frustrating! Nevertheless, I am hopeful that this site will give me the tools I need to be successful so that I can lose weight and implement a healthier lifestyle.

My Program:
UPDATE: I still have to work around significant health issues, but I am able to do 30 minutes of cardio broken down into 10-15 minute intervals. I cannot do 30 minutes of cardio non-stop yet. I will ride my exercise cycle or do limited, modified aerobics for 10-15 minutes each morning & 15-20 minutes of walking with my husband each evening. I am attempting to do this 6 days a week in order to develop a "good habit." I will increase the cardio time gradually as my health conditions tolerate the exercise. I will also be utilizing the exercises in Jorge Cruise's book, "8 Minutes in the Morning for Real Shapes and Real Sizes." I will be altering my diet to include less sugar & saturated fats. I will include more fiber and more greens. I will avoid fast food, junk food, and soda. Best wishes for success to you all - and to me, too! :)

Personal Information:
I am just going to introduce myself briefly. My name is Lauran & I am 37 years old. I live in Arizona with my husband and our cats.

HI Lauran! Thanks for stopping by my page and welcoming me to the West Valley. Buckeye is a little farther out than I thought but it is nice.

Looks like you are on the right track with your plan. One thing I realized pretty recently that I try to tell everyone is that it is not only about the time we set aside for exercise and eating right. It's also about not sitting for too long at a time. The nice thing is that getting up and moving around some say every hour will not be to taxing but it will help to keep your metabolism moving and remind you of your goals.

Hey we have some things in common too; crocheting, writing, walking and the Bible.

    Have a great weekend! Renee

You're more than welcome, Jenn! I greatly admire you for being able to keep your spirits up in the face of pain. :) I don't know that I could go through all of that & still keep smiling. I hope you're feeling better now and that you're able to get some rest.

Thank you for checking up on me. I haven't had a great string of luck this week, but at least I still have my sense of humor.

I hope you had a really nice weekend and I'll check in with you again tomorrow.

Take care until then. emoticon emoticon

Yaaaayyyy! I'm so glad to hear it's not broken! That's great news! Of course, torn ligaments are no fun either. :( I did something similar to my knee ten years ago and it still hurts every once in a while. I was on crutches for three days, but never bothered to get it looked at or X-rayed, so it's my own fault. :(

Even with your injured wrist, I think you can still do quite well in the BLC #16. However, Boot Camp might be a bit much with that sort of injury. I hope it heals quickly!! Please know that you are in my thoughts & prayers!! Please feel better soon & let me know if there's anything I can do to help!! emoticon emoticon
