Well it is October 1st and I am starting over. My weight had gotten up to 185. I was feeling fatter than ever and my boyfriend was pushing me to lose weight. I had been trying on my own. I tried the Slim fast system for about a week or two, all that did was reduce my spendable funds. Then I just started reducing my soda (Diet Dr Pepper) intake and being more careful about what I was eating, when I ate and how much. The scale still didn't move. All during this time I was researching a local weight loss clinic that is run by a doctor. When I finally decided that I can't get this excess weight off I made an appointment. The only thing different between what they do and my diet plan is they use appetite suppressants. Finally I have started to lose weight. I really didn't want to go this route but I am only doing half a dose with success! Hopefully I can get down to a good weight and then maintain.

My Goals:
I am back on track and aim to get back into size 12 jeans. Don't know how much more weight I need to lose but I'm working on getting there.

Seriously watch what I eat, avoid carrots (as much as possible), as well as popcorn and bananas because these foods tend to cause us to store fat!

I am following the body type diet plan with some of Suzanne Somers Sexy Forever diet plan.

Lost my husband of 32 years March 29, 2008.

I struggled with my weight for several years, but in January of this year I hit the scales at my Jan doctor's appointment and decided that I would get serious with my weight loss. So I started to seriously watch what I ate and how much, so far I have been very successful and hope to reach my final goal wt of 130 or less by the end of the year.

    Hi Linda, About the pool gardens - If you plant carrots I think you should try short ones first, to see if the dirt is deep enough for their "hair roots". Another idea - Have you ever heard of the "3 sisters planting". It's where you plant corn and pole beans together along with squash. The pole beans grow up the corn and the squash discourages raccoons because they don't like the picky squash leaves, plus the squash leaves help keep the weeds down. You can Google it to find out more!
    It's an old Indian custom.

    Hi Linda, I noticed that you're taking appetite suppressants. Please be careful with those. They're not good for your heart. It's good that you're only taking a half dose.
