Introduction Text Welcome to my site. I decided that I would start losing weight on April 12, 2007 at 235 lbs, and officially declared myself in maintenance in April 2008. Recently however I've managed to gain an uncomfortable amount of weight and am back to SP for a tune up I moved to the majestic and unique Telluride, CO in Sept of 07 after living in the Columbia River Gorge in WA state for 12 years. I'm currently unemployed and am working on a rough draft of an historical novel. I wish to be like the turtles and the mayflies in the pond that do not worry about their roles in society; to know that it is enough to enjoy the sun on my back and a good meal made and grown with love. Imogene Pass Run September '10 5 hours 8 minutes Chickpea to Cook A chickpea leaps almost over the rim of the pot where it's being boiled. "Why are you doing this to me?" Rumi (as submitted by SUNPANTHER) Hobbies: --ordinary people, doing ordinary things, on ordinary days. --ICE HOCKEY --yoga --a bit of running now and then, preferably on a single track. --reading sci fi, good novels, mysteries with an authentic ethnic or historical theme, and non fiction, actually these days I like nonfiction best. --snowboarding --gardening and poultry --drawing, colored pencils, children's art --wandering around in a local sort of way. --wildlife especially pond plants and creatures, and amphibians. --safe and sustainable drinking water --safe, ethical, and sustainable diet --recycling and composting --science tidbits that make you say wow --my family --myth and fairy tales --anthropology and cultural diversity --textures and small things such as lichen, insects, tree bark and moss. --storytelling --baking bread --useful items and art from people that I know --Saturday and farmer's markets and the excellent meals that come from all of those tasty goodies. --the unexpected Personality: INFP Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving

Things that I want.... Long Term: I want to feel professional when I do my job. I want my daughter to have healthy habits so that she doesn't struggle with her weight the way I do. I want eat a sustainable diet. to grow a portion of my food and feel the rhythm of the seasons through what I eat. I want to have lots of energy and to enjoy or try new activities I want to feel centered and mindful. I want to not obsess over what I have eaten, what I am eating, and what I'm going to eat, or how much I weigh and how much I'm going to weigh, and for my body to settle at some comfortable sustainable weight. To maintain my new weight indefinitely Medium Term: I'm shooting for being less than 200 lbs and being able to fit into my size 16 jeans. (Met 9/07) 165 and size 14 jeans? (Met 2/08) 150 and size 12 jeans? seems unlikely (size 12 met 3/08) size 10 Carharts (met 9/08, and still met 9/09

My plan is to avoid baked goods, sugar, and flour, and to eat mainly fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and meat. I prefer to know where my food comes from and to choose local, natural, and cruelty free products whenever possible. Exercise: 10 minutes a day exercising minimum. Take advantage of living in Telluride, and tear up the slopes in the winter and hike the mountains the rest of the time.

I have a husband of 24 years, a 23 year old son and a 18 year old daughter, a cat and a quaker parrot. I believe that making my community the kindest, safest, most inclusive it can be is the best that I can do in saving the world.
