I am a 25 year old mom and wife. I have a 6 year old son and would love to have another one or two children. My husband and I have been not preventing pregnancy for the past almost 4 years with no luck. I am morbidly obese and will not go to the doctor because they will just tell me to lose weight. Instead I am starting to take a multivitamin including thyroid health. Because I didn't always weigh as much as I do now. When I had my son I weighed 245 pounds after giving birth and from then I just kept gaining. my hair has been shedding like crazy, I sleep all the time. I eat less than my husband does, but I have no motivation. I now weigh 395 pounds and WILL NOT hit the 400 mark. I feel ashamed to pick my son up from school because I am the biggest mom and I feel like they will make fun of him because ofme. I will change for myself and for my son. So I can be around for him for a long time. My mother recently passed away in July and she was only 60 years old. She had lung cancer she didn't even know about. I know that I want to see her again. But not any time soon, and she would kick my butt if I don't change for the better.

I am starting a lifestyle change. I will begin walking at least 3 times a week at first. I will also make sure to drink plenty of water. My oerall goal is to be in a size 12 jeans. I'd take anything smaller than that too. But I am realistic. I have a short term goal for the next 6 months and I would ideally like to be at 300 by March 6th. But I will settle for 315. I do not consume thatd many calories each day, but I am an online student so my main problem is lack of exercise. I will begin an exercise schedule. It doesn't matter whch days I walk, but I WILL WALK!!! This is a promise to myself!!!!

    Welcome to "Need To Lose 200+ Pounds" Just wanted to take a moment and welcome you to Sparkpeople--and to our team.

    Finding my own way to SP has to be the best thing that's ever happened to me, and I just know it will be for you as well.
    I've found that being a part of a group of warm, caring people has given me motivation to stay on track, encouragement when I was falling, and CHEERS at the small goals I have met.

    If you need any help in navigating this place, please do let me know--as I know it really can get confusing at times, with all that info SP has to offer, but here's a couple of things that may help;

    Make small goals to reach, looking too far ahead, Or trying to do to much at once can be discouraging.

    Try to Use the food tracker that is on SP. It really does make a tremendous difference.

    Read the articles that are in the RESOURCE CENTER. As well as success stories from other members. It will help you stay focused--and motivated.

    Most of all become an active member----by reading and posting. You will learn a lot from others--- and they from you. It truly is amazing how this process does work.

    And lastly be patient... we are changing our way of eating for life, not looking for a fast cure. So there will be bumps, but we will all make it with the help of one another.

    I look forward to reading your posts, good or bad days, and to getting better acquainted with you. Please do drop by our September 2011 Chit Chat thread so we can to know each other better :)
