I'd like to FINALLY make this weight loss a true way of living.

Sept 27 09: I have done it, thanks to 3 months' training/money with a firm that celebrities like....ahem. Good way to learn portion control, using more fruits and veggies and fewer proteins. I'm practically a vegetarian but I do like eggs, cheese, plain yogurt, and nuts. I no longer binge on M&Ms or other sweets, but treat myself on those special occasions. I can now control it. Yeah!

I have ruined my measurements here by going back BEFORE my original start date to add my highest weight. The site translated that as today's date, although I found the date on the calendar and clicked on that. SO.....I won't use the tracker.

Fitness Minutes: 62

My Goals:
2/21/10 - After attending Diabetic Classes, I found I will need to lose ANOTHER 16-20 lbs (after the 34 lbs lost last year) and adhere to their guidelines. I must stay on a daily program of low carbs and exercise. EXERCISE! I'm to exercise 30 minutes daily.

My Program:
2/15/10 - I have regained 8 lbs since Christmas 09. Some of this was due to medical problems, one of which has been a diagnosis of borderline Type II Diabetes. Since that nationally known diet I was on had quite a bit of salt and sugar, I'm having to "wing it"....on/off/on/off South Beach. I must get a grip. The drs like the SB diet, exercise, and Sparkpeople!

Personal Information:
From the beautiful Hill Country of Central Texas. Studied art at UT. Live on the lake but it is too hot and dry to get out and enjoy it! Exercise is indoors on the recumbent bike and with our new Wii Fit, which is pretty amazing.

Other Information:
All the things I love involve, my work, making jewelry, sketching, reading, and movies!

    Thanks so much, Reba. Everyone is so kind and helpful. I will be checking back in as I have time. It's going to be hectic around here for a while. Yes, I do know the benefits of eating healthily, and I am following a program similar, but not to the T as sparkpeople. It's a wonderful plan. Thank you for your reply. I hope it's ok if I just peek in from time to time.

    Hi ... I tried to send you a SparkMail but I got a message that said you weren't accepting messages at this time. Sorry to hear about your upcoming surgeries. I'll keep you in my prayers that everything goes well. It is not uncommon to gain some when first starting SparkPeople. It is usually water weight gain if you are drinking at least 8 cups of water a day. But your weight will even out after you get use to drinking that much water. It could also have been muscle weight where your body is building muscles.

    Whatever you decide to do, I'll support you all the way. I do suggest that you continue your healthy eating habits. And you can rejoin any time. Good luck to you!
