I AM WORTH WORKING FOR AND CHANGING FOR Update: On August 12, 2019 I began a PhD program at Northcentral University. I am working toward a PhD in marriage and family therapy and I am specializing in culture, diversity, and social justice in a global context. My focus is on the damages of systemic and individual racism in a society. Update: I have completed my master's program and am now working at a private practice as a family therapist. I am what is called an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), and as soon as I have my hours completed and take a test, I will be licensed (LMFT). Sometimes I cannot believe my good fortune to be able to do what I do. Past posts: *I was accepted into the graduate program and am now working on my MS in counseling: marriage, family, child therapy. I just started (Aug 2014) so I have another 2 years, followed by a year of internship. *I got my BS in psychology in May (2014)

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my blog and comment. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I will look for the book you recommended.

I did end up talking to each of my kids after school today. I took the suggestion of asking each if they wanted to attend. They have opted not to attend. Catherine right away said that she did not want to talk more about it so I let it drop and will come back to it later. Ben and I talked about depression and why someone would reach the point of feeling hopeless. I reassured him that no matter how intense a current moment feels, things can ALWAYS shift and change. My oldest, CJ, was less affected since he did not know the family.

We decided to write a card to the family and Ben offered to spend some time with their son (if he would like to). We will write this in their card and follow up with them via email later.

It feels good to me to be talking about this and receiving advice. Thanks so much. Kymm

HEY! Thanks for posting and I hear you loud and clear! I remember trying to cook just for me and remember thinking the thots you mention.
Had to hit your page and you're beautiful! No more of these comments about face cream! We'll get to our goals and find our ages to be the best ages we've had - no way will we go back to the traumatic earlier years!
    Thank you!

I need you as a BUDDY! Right now, I need a plan and you've given me lots of ideas from your weight-loss experience. Thanks for sharing! I'm looking forward to getting to know you more and, hopefully, to be able to share some of my own successes.
