***Update, 3/7/2011****
I have been off Sparkpeople consistently for a few years now. I never got to my goal weight of 130 and after living pretty comfortably at 140 for 3 years, I don't think I will ever get to that weight and still enjoy life! I enjoy food waay too much :). Regardless, my weight has crept back up to 151! Yikes!! All of my clothes that I bought and new suites aren't fitting very well ANND, now I have a wedding to get ready for! I really will never have to look better on any day of my life - so hopefully, that will be sufficient motivation to start making everyday count! I want to look and feel better and make my way back down to a happier, healthier me!

***Update, 1/20/2008***
I've lost 25 lbs. w/ Sparkpeople in the last 9 months. My goal is to lose 12.5 more and be at my "permanent" weight of 130 lbs by May 15, 2008. I'm excited to be in this position for myself. Thank you all and I look forward to continually enjoying your support in this endeavor...

I've currently lost 20 lbs. w/ SparkPeople and feel a lot better about myself, my energy, the way I look and the way I feel. Thank you all for sooo much help, I couldn't have done this w/o you! It's been a bumpy ride and I am sure that these next 11 lbs. will be the toughest, but I know I can do it with all of my wonderful friends at SP helping. I've been steadily working on this since April 1, 2007 with a 6 week hiatus in July/August due to my last month with some dear friends before I moved away for LAW SCHOOL. I DID gain back 4 lbs in those 6 wks, but they've since been shed and those memories were well worth it!
So now, I'm in Seattle in my first semester at law school and determined to continue to make my health a priority. Thank you again and good luck to everyone with continuing this journey!

I'm a recent college graduate who has put on about 18 pounds in the last 4.5 years...most of it coming during the senior year party blitz! After a bad break up in college, I dropped to 141 lbs and it felt great...the thinnest I've been since sophomore year of high school. Then, from jr - sr of college, I drank and ate my way all the way up to 166.5, the heaviest and most unhealthy I've ever been in my life! It was after a Memorial Weekend binge where I accidentally (kind of) drank 39 Bud Lights in one day...I realized after that I needed to make a change, ASAP! So far, it's been a long off and on process where I can't seem to get my footing fully. Just by cutting back on my overt excesses, I was able to drop down to 161. But, it has already been another year of my life and I still am insecure about the way I look with my weight. I am not looking to become some bombshell or set unrealistic goals, I just want my old favorite clothes to fit and be comfortable in my own skin. As I am right now, I'm constantly trying to hide my flab and stomach mostly (I went from 4-pack to keg) and I just hate the feeling of always turning down hot tub nights, trips to the lake and laying out just to tan because of my insecurities. I feel like I'm missing out and I want to take control of that part of my life. I've applied to grad school in the fall and I want to enter a newer and more confident person.

My Goals:
1. Get down to 152 by Memorial Weekend

Almost made it...152.5! Dang Mother's day weekend and Mem Day bbqs!

NEW #1 GOAL: Down to 150 by June 15 (sister's college graduation.

Took an extra week, but I got there!

2. Run for 40 minutes straight! (I used to be able to!)

Check!! 40 minutes straight and I can get to 4 miles!

2&1/2. Get to 4 miles in 36 mins!

3. Get to 141 lbs by FEBRUARY 1

4. Be 140 by Single's Awareness Day

5. Begin ab/leg workouts on February 1!

6. Cardio 4 times weekly

7. Lose my fear of the bathing suit, 135 lbs by spring break!

My Program:
*At 158 lbs - New Make-Up


*At 155 lbs - Pedicure!

I got shoes instead, they are so pretty!

*NEW GOAL - At 150 lbs by June 15, sister's college graduation. At that point, I'll be .5 lbs over half way to my goal. AND, maybe an added bonus of my family who are coming into town for the graduation noticing that I've lost 16 lbs since they last saw me!)

ALMOST made it. Got to 150 on 6/22, a week late!

*At 151 lbs - A New Do!


*At 148 lbs - Pedicure!

*At 146 lbs - Mmm, good dinner out on the town to celebrate 20 lbs gone!!

*At 140 lbs - New shoes...

***At 135 lbs - New clothes***

***130 = SWIMSUIT b/c no fear

Personal Information:
I'm a 24 college grad from Oregon (where OBBD (Oregon Big Butt Disease) runs rampant). I like to knit, I love kitties, I listen to music all the time and love hanging out with my friends. I frequent complicated relationships due to the fact that I'm insecure with myself and tend to project my insecurities as distrust. I want to be confident!

Other Information:
My biggest problems in weight loss:

- Social situations: everyone around me seems to have unbelievable metabolism. They eat when and what they want and still could pose for Sports Illustrated (many of them are collegiate athletes). Unfortunately, i can't do that and maintain a good figure.

- Beer. Yeah, I like it.

- Motivation to workout. It's a love/hate relationship.

    No I don't mind thanks for the comment right now I have been so sick that I have been gaining weight because I can't exercise but when my sickness is over I am going to kick it into high gear and lose this weight.

    Darn, you do remind me of myself in so many ways! My name is Tharina, I am 21 and in my 4th and final year at the Noordwes University here in South Africa. I have always had weight isseus, going from one extreme to the over. I struggle to find the healthy "in the middle" spot. Going through a bad breakup, my heart still belongs to the man and we love each other, but agh, things are just messed up! I was suppose to start planning my wedding, now, well...guess not.

    I am really serious about getting a diet buddy and everyone is wants to be that, but no one is really serious. I need someone I can be accountable to. By the way, I also like running, started just a little while ago, but tore my ligaments this weekend (bikes, dont ask). Was actually at 20min running at 8km/ph without stopping. So tell me more about you?

    It sounds like you're on a great track to getting your body where you want it to be. You'll definately make it. And I'm sure you already know, but don't forget about weight training. That's really where you'll get the sexy toned body. All this sweating just keeps it that way :-)
