    I participated on the Beck team and used her plan as much as I could several years ago, but I didn't stick to a specific diet for long and dropped out. However, I now practice most of the skills she recommends adopting even before you start a traditional diet and I've lost 15 pounds this year with habits that I know I can sustain. What I mean is don't be in too much of a hurry to get to the 'diet" part. Learning to eat slowly, sit down, savor every bite, wait until you a really hungry to eat (in my case, I choose to eat 3 moderate meals most days, rather than meals and snacks-- I love it), redefine what full is for you, etc. : all these can lead to weight loss without a specific diet. I also tend to eat half the volume of my lunch and dinner as vegetables and fruit. You will find your right balance, too, but it might take more than a few weeks or months! This is forever. emoticon
