January 4, 2018 = There is nothing that has ever been consistently harder than losing weight. It never gets easier. I don't know where this attitude to keep trying comes from but thank God for it. My body doesn't cooperate very well but I am trying to love it enough to make some healthy changes that will be better for the body and for my Spirit. I want to feel better, that is the simple reason for wanting to lose weight. Having chronic illness and being this overweight is haaaarrrrd!

I'm Kelly and this is my journey!

There have been many changes in my life since I was last active at SP. In 2014, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and Type 2 diabetes. Since then 'life' has been physically painful for me and I am not in great condition right now but I will be learning to eat healthier to control my blood sugar and for overall health improvements. The harder issue is exercise because that is so much harder when also having chronic pain/illness.

I am not new to SP. I first joined in 2006 and was very active for about 2 years and lost 70 lbs. After that, it was a slippery slope and I was in and out of SP until 2013 when my health turned upside down and I left. For about 11 months I had no use of my right arm so being online was nearly impossible.

My Goals:


2019: Simple goal. To weigh less at the end of the year than I started.
If I have to pick a goal number, 250 would be ok.


My Program:
Eat right
Use the food tracker
Drink Water
Cut back on red meat and all soda
Eat more veggies and fruits
Lower carbs

And I think that is more inmportant than any excersise out there..Way to 'give yourself a talk" and realize today is a new day!!     and...an Oooooo La La to U too! I like ur page as u too have changed it, I LOVE ur ..I Believe I Can Fly. Walking in the park...ahhhh one of my favorites to do. The best thing is that ur not only getting ur cardio in, but u can see all the beauty of what nature brings us and it is right there in front & beside u. Creating a memory of ur walks together that I am sure U, Grayson & Porkchop can always share. Our kids still talk of the memories of our walks/bike rides.

    Hi Kelly,
    You are doing great, it's nice to hear from you to. I have had a bit of a bad week, you can read it in my blog from yesterday. I did manage to get out today, I forced myself to walk over to Walmart, it's just across the street. I bought a water bottle that I can take to the gym, I hope to go back to that tomorrow. Will have to wait, I am still sore today. I made a really nice turkey vegetable soup for dinner tonight and I think I'll have a salad to. Good work on getting your husband and son motivated. He sure is a cutie. Hang in there, some days are good and somedays are not so good. Remember we are in for the long haul, so we just keep on trucking and there maybe some bumps in the road, but it doesn't take long to get over them.
