July 1, 20129 - Hi! I've been gone for a while - not enough time to spend online because I don't have a computer at home. I've been really busy at work and have let my goals slide. So--another month, another chance.

March 1, 2019 - Hi! I'm 70, obese, diabetic and arthritic with Afib. I won't let it stop me. My goal is to stay relatively healthy AND mobile for the rest of my life. To accomplish this goal, I have to lose weight and keep moving.

I'm continuing to work as long as I can because I believe that will help me with my goal. Especially since all my favorite activities are sedentary (knitting, crocheting, embroidery, beading, card-making and reading).

It is helpful that I like walking, especially in beautiful weather. Walking is also my zen time when I just let my mind go where it wants. It's great for relieving stress and working out problems.

My Goals:
Stay healthy by loosing weight and keeping active.
1) Work into eating right by:
a) Eating 3 servings of veggies per day, every day. (as of 07/01/19)
2) Exercising by:
a) Walking in place while watching daily news every day. (as of 07/01/19) Walking is place is easiest on my arthritis because I can do it barefooted.


My Program:
As of 07/01/2019 - Don't give up - keep trying
As of 03/01/2019 - Tackling too much at once doesn't work. I'm going to approach it slowly and make each goal a habit before I add onto it. It's also less to try and keep straight as I go forward.



Personal Information:
I need diet and exercise because all my favorite past times are sedentary. I like knitting and crocheting, embroidery, beading, coloring and jigsaw puzzles. When I walk, I like to walk outside for the pure pleasure of enjoying the outdoors. However, with arthritis, it's nearly impossible to do any significant walking outside with my shoes on, so I walk in place inside barefooted.


Other Information:
In the summer, I keep a vegetable garden of sorts - all in pots - 4 tomato plants, 1 cucumber plan, 2 strawberry plants and a couple pots of leafy lettuces. Starting to see the beginnings of tomatoes and I'll soon be able to start having fresh salads. When the weather is nice, I can sit and do my knitting and crocheting on the patio. Love summer but hate hot muggy weather. Summer in Minnesota is just too short - this year it didn't get started until late May and last year it ended by October. If that holds for this year, we'll be lucky to have 4 months of summer.

    That's an awesome thing to do. I didn't know that was good for dogs. I will see if they will eat that. I feed them veggies and one loves apples and bananas. I always check foods out to be sure they as safe! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
