I'm going to pass on the best advice I have gotten to help me on losing weight:

Please don't diet!!!!

Make a lifestyle change..

Make moderation your favorite word instead of your least favorite word!

You can have ice cream, just one serving, and really enjoy it!

Be jealous of your calories.. you only have so many and if that cookie isn't really worth it "don't waste it on your waist"!!!

Make it easier for yourself to make the right choices health wise by stocking up on fruits and veggies..

"Whether you think you can or you think you can't you are RIGHT!!!!"

Have them easy to grab for a quick snack.. you wont miss having so many sweets and munchies when you have a great crunchy apple or a handful of grapes. And these are not empty calories..

Lastly.. try not to drink your calories.. I know a beer or a glass of wine is good for you and your heart but just one glass! Two at the most but you have to account for it.. ( I PERSONALLY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DO THIS LATELY! :()

"If you want things to change, YOU have to change!"

I used to doctor up my coffee and tea so much.. now I use Sweet n Low if I'm going to take it English style but for the most part I'm drinking it herbal and straight..

It's easy to do when you put an electric kettle at your desk.. much easier than getting up and running to the kitchen for all the extras..

Anyway people ask me all the time what I do differently .. that's a few things.. I hope it helps.

Exercise every day.. do whatever you can do for as long as you can do it! Work up a good heart rate and sweat! Go to the American Heart Association and stay within your recommended heart rate!

Believe in yourself!

Be your own best friend, and staunchest supporter, and advocate.

Try to find something to smile about every day and talk to someone you love every day...

If you're still reading this:..

Back in March 2005 I had a Gastric Bypass operation. When I went into the hospital I weighed in at 353 pounds! I am only 5'4" and I have a small frame, so that is quite heavy for me! They did it laproscopically so they had to pump my body full of fluids to be able to see the right organs to cut around all that fat.. so my highest weight in the hospital ballooned to 385 pounds! I think the worst of it was that my foot was injured badly on the operating table because the table had to be vertical throughout the 4 hour procedure and during that time all 353 pounds of me and the 32 pounds of water were resting on one ankle.. thus coming out of the surgery I was in a wheelchair. I went to a rehabilitation center and went from a wheelchair, to a walker, to a cane with the help of physical therapists.. I relearned how to eat with a dietitian and with the support of my family made it through a very rough few weeks..
Since that time I've steadily lost weight.. I could have done better.. I could have done worse.. what I've learned from all of this is to keep looking ahead.

Now 5 years later in March I am down 153 pounds and I am still severely obese! .. (which is better from super morbidly obese)

The difference.. I feel so much better.. I don't have asthma all the time, I am sleeping better.. I don't ache all over.. I can see my number on the scale without having to bend over.. I can cut my toenails and sit freestyle on the floor. I'm more comfortable in my own skin.

People look at me and still see a heavy woman, but inside I feel normal. Inside I feel healthier.. I am tucking in my shirts these days and wearing a belt.. I feel more comfortable getting out of the house these days.. it's going to get easier and better.. I just have to keep going.

When you fall down get back up again and keep going.. It's easy to look at the big picture and think wow.. I'll never get there.. because realistically it is going to take me another couple of years or so to lose the rest of this weight.

My AHA moment was when the first Biggest Loser show aired. I remember sitting on the couch with a pint of ice cream and that show came on and I saw people my size or larger.. doing exercise! Losing weight! Competing and I thought.. wow look at what they can do.. what can I do? Maybe I can do this.

Since then I have applied to the show and never heard back.. but in a way I feel I'm a biggest loser at home.. now I have most of their tapes and I work out with Bob and Jillian all the time in my living room.

If they ever allow friends or singles to apply again.(right now they only want families); and I am still over 100 pounds overweight; even now I'm not sure that I am or not.. some tables say that for my height and weight I should weigh 120 pounds..and the range is between 120-150 to be healthy.. so if it's 120 then I qualify for the show but if it's 150 I would not. That is very confusing

I would apply again in hopes of getting on that show.. to lose weight like that would be a life changing experience.. I want to be a TARA!!! But I'm certainly not going to let that slow me down in the weight loss department.. I'm going to keep doing all that I can do to get this weight off!

I wish all the best to everyone on this journey with me.. I'll tell anyone.. if I can do this.. anyone can... I've gone:

From size 32 to an L.

I have a long road ahead yet but I appreciate every step that I have taken and look forward to the changes.

Lets be there for each other and change our tomorrows!

My Goals:
At 204 I will no longer be Severely obese but just very overweight or obese.
At 188 I will no longer be obese but just overweight!
At 159 I would just be marginally overweight.
At 150 and below I will be within my ideal range.
From there I can stay the same or lose depending on how I look and feel as long as I stay above 111 which would be underweight for my height and frame.

My Program:
I have been walking, using an elliptical machine at home, doing tons of exercise videos at home.

I have to tell you adding the workouts to the walking has made a HUGE difference in my attitude!!! They are very positive people and that positive feedback REALLY HELPS!!!

I tend to average just a pound a week now. I've had a few ups but mostly it's been a downhill ride.

Personal Information:
I'm from Hoquiam, Washington.

I go in bouts from using Sparkpeople and blogging online about the weight loss to just getting busy at home and not logging in.. I do it when I need it. If you miss me and want to contact feel free yogiyoda@yahoo.com
